Day One, JustRite Papercraft Shoes Vintage Labels Five Cling Stamp Set

Welcome to Day ONE of JustRite's November Release!  We will be revealing a new set for five days!  So I hope you will join us this week for JustRite Papercraft inspiration galore!

How about a shaped card using Spellbinders Decorative Labels One Dies?  The flower image from today's Shoes Vintage Labels Six set is stamped onto Ranger watercolor paper with StazOn ink.  I used a water brush to color them and the background. The color is picked up onto the brush by lightly dabbing the brush onto the ink pads.  I wet the background before adding color and spread the water/color as far as it wanted.  The lower flower bouquet is cut using a craft knife to allow that portion to lay atop the die edge so it is not cut through! So, the flower bouquets are stamped and colored in place!

This wonderful Shoes Vintage Labels Six stamp set is designed by Amy Tedder and contains 9 cling stamps. The stamps are made of deeply etched red rubber that will cling to any acrylic block. The shoe is stamped and hand trimmed.  Its hard to see but I added SU Crystal Effects and a bit of glitter to glam them up!  A little bow and voila! The sentiment is stamped and die cut using a standard Spellbinders circle.  Adding those tiny twinkles add the finishing touch!

Ho, Ho, Ho! Santa Card! Stamp Simply Style!

Welcome! We are on Day 11 of Sharon's 12 days of CAS Christmas! So how about an ornament shaped card today? The base is cut using Spellbinders Heirloom 2011 dies as is the water colored paper.  Kaisercraft Gingerbread Paper is perfect for this jolly Santa image! All the dots add a festive touch, no? Have you used those new SugarDot stickers from Prima?  Oh my, I just may be adding another item to my fav list! These dots come four colors per card, all being various sizes!

Just LOOK at all the holiday goodness in Kaisecraft's Gingerbread Stamp Set!  I have to say, the package and banner images could be used all year long!  I stamped my images onto watercolor paper using StazOn Black, as I knew I wanted to watercolor using Ranger Distress Markers.

I watercolored the images with a water brush and distress markers.  I applied my marker color onto clear acetate, picked up small amounts of color with the water brush, then applied to stamped images.  Adding more water helped wash out & lighten color and adding more color created the shading I was trying to achieve.  After applying a small amount of tacky glue onto Santa's fur and facial hair, I sprinkled clear rock candy distress glitter.  It's so fine, in the sense of texture of glitter!  LOVE!  Die cutting, adding ribbon & embellishments, trimming out sentiment letters, and voila! Card is complete!

Believe! Watercolor Card with The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!

Welcome to my Wednesday post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!  It is Day Four on The Stamp Simply Ribbon Stores 12 Days of Christmas creations!  It started Sunday with Sharon kicking it off with a wonderful trio of cards HERE.

I recently ordered "new to me" goodies from The Stamp Simply Store and I used several on this card!  It is a standard A2 size card, pretty simple and easy, so let's get started!

• Stamp tree and branch image onto water color paper.  
• Lightly and evenly mist paper with mini mister.  
• With water brush, lightly touch brush tip on burlap and jeans ink & spread color onto wet watercolor paper, let dry.  If you want you can use your heat emboss gun to speed drying.
• Stamp deer image.
• Stamp sentiment image multiple times, color in Believe.  Cut to card size and place on designer paper before adhering to water colored panel.
• Die cut watercolor panel, and designer papers.  Adhere to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base. 
• Add burlap cord, glue snowflake onto the cord top.
• Add adhesive Sugardots where desired.  

If you ever wanted to achieve watercolor effect in your paper crafting, using this watercolor paper and inks are what you need! Whether you lightly mist your paper and spread ink around or mist your already stamped images, the result is wonderful!  Add your embellishments and voila' you have a perfect creation!  Thanks so much for stopping by today! Stamp Simply, A Color Challenge

Plant a Little Love

Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge is to make a sympathy card. Let's add to our stash of sympathy cards this week so we have them on hand when needed. I know everyone is always looking for ideas for these cards that are not always the easiest to make -- so let's help each other out and let our ideas flow! On my card, Spellbinder's Labels Six, number 5 & 6 dies were used along with Kaiser adhesive pearls. Added is machine stitching before attaching panel to card. The stamped floral image is from JustRite's Plant a Little Love set. It is stamped with StazOn black ink onto watercolor paper, then watercolored using SU watercolor crayons and a H2O brush. All cardstock is SU and patterned paper is from Kaiser's Lilac Avenue.

Friends are Flowers

IN THE GARDEN OF LIFE

They sure are! I made this card for a dear friend who just found out she has breast cancer. My dear, always cheerful, kind, and courageous friend. She was worried about my ankle! She dropped off homemade apple dumplings and friendship bread in the midst of her own medical news. Thank you, my friend, I am blessed beyond words.

Using the sketch this week from 2Sketches4You, I utilized one of my water colored floral images and papers from my Lilac Avenue kit. Check out sketch details HERE, and the Lilac Avenue kit HERE. The yellow scalloped punch out worked perfectly for the sketch. I also snipped along a few of the image lines so I could curl up pieces of the flowers and leaves. I love how much dimension this gives using one stamped image! Flower petals and leaves work especially well for this technique. Here is JustRite's Plant a Little Love set, The sentiment border used on my card is from JustRite's My Garden set. Ankle update: NO surgery needed, Alleluia! I have a cast and will go back to orthopedic doc in one month. No driving for me. However, I am getting better at those crutches! Bookmarks for JustRite's Garden Tour1

I have been waiting to make these bookmarks forever! I placed this idea in my favorites last year! Unfortunately, my email crashed last night along with all my bookmarks, favorites, blogs, stores, technique sites, etc. and they are not accessible! So, please forgive me for not giving proper credit where credit is due, I will edit when I get back all that info! The silk ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. The hardware is SU. The punched image is held in the hardware by clear lacquer carefully placed on the backside of the inner rim. I then adhered a backing of the DP to give it a finished look. I utilized two new JustRite sets for my floral bookmark end. The pink flower is from Plant a Little Love. Obviously I only used a snippet, but you can see the image in it's totality along with the other centers and borders. I started with one continuous piece of ribbon, looping it at the bottom end and threading it through the slide, making sure the short tail is tucked under the long piece. I then threaded the long piece up through the top hole and tied the end off with a bead! All designer paper is Madeline from K & Company. The multi colored floral image is from JustRite's set, My Garden. Here again you can see the beautiful image centers and borders. What a wonderful garden tour these two sets create! Creating "From the Library" labels adds a little more to the gift. I stamped on sticker paper with StazOn black for both the border and center initial. I distressed the edges after cutting the circles out with my Spellbinders die. Just peel and stick! And here is the Three Border Set that I used for my label borders. For a variance, I used a initial border from JustRite's Damask Borders Deluxe Kit.

The floral images are stamped on watercolor paper. After applying color to my images, I added a touch of Ultra Fine Flower Soft. This is a new Flower Soft product that will be available February 1. It adds some depth to the flowers and leaves. On the pink flower, I added Ultra Fine Strawberry Fizz and a tiny bit of Ultra Fine Citrus Crush in the flower center. On the leaves I added Ultra Fine Sage. I used the same colors on the second floral image minus the Raspberry Fizz. ***Check out Flower Soft designers, Jenn, Jeanne, Deb and the Flower Soft BLOG to see some fabulous creations!

A close-up peek of the closed container to reveal the half pearls attached to the underside of the container. Gives it a little lift and adds some charm to the overall package. They are attached with glue dots. The outer container strips of paper are adhered to the with scor tape.

And one more pic of the gift with the card I made last week! I love the coordination of the set. Adding a bookstore gift card would add to the theme as well, or even a book to gift along with the package! Limitless possibilities! And always JustRite!

Fantasy Floral Clearly

The inspiration for this layout is the CPS 84 layout challenge. I love their challenges, but sadly do not have the time to play each week! I did it today! Go check out their site and be inspired! I also included a rub on quote which is the SCS challenge, using a quote or such on your creation. All papers are layered on the outside and inside of the clear card stock to hide any adhesives.

The floral image is from Flourishes Fantasy Floral Garden set. I stamped it with Memento tuxedo black ink on watercolor paper. Reinkers are used to watercolor image.

Papertreyink twill ribbon, ball head straight pin from the dollar store, Clear bead from SU pretties kit, scallop oval punch, and still using those sparkly embellis from my pal, Linsey!

Butterfly Moments, Friend

My creation for Friday's SCS Limited Supply Challenge. The stamped butterfly is water colored with my H2O brush and SU markers. Scor Pal used for scoring around butterfly panel, along with distressed edging. Stamp set is from Flourishes, Butterfly Moments. Lavender adhesive pearls, dollar store headed straight pin, and Papertreyink ribbon add the embellishment details. All in all, pretty simple!

Celebrate Fantasy Floral

I tried my hand with the color challenge over on SCS this week. My inspiration for this card is from the FLOURISHES "Fantasy Floral set. I LOVE the detail in this particular stamp and knew it would be great to use reinkers to water color, since the SCS Monday challenge was to use reinkers for the Try a New Technique challenge!

I stamped my image on watercolor paper with StazOn jet black ink. The sentiment is stamped with the same. Celebrate is from the set, Flourished Words, with 27 different sentiments. Notice how the celebrate is curved to hug the top of the flower? With clear polymer stamps, they give you a little play with the stamp so I curved the stamp as I placed it on my clear block, and both being clear I can position it right where I need it to be! I LOVE that! The green bottom card stock is stamped with a vine leaf stamp from Fantasy Floral. It adds to the design without taking away from the focal point image!

I utilized my Janome Sew Mini to attach the black band of card stock! I am still getting used to this wonderful new item in the studio! I tend to hesitate when I first start stitching...then the stitches are not perfectly straight. You just have to place the needle in your starting position and go for it! I keep telling myself, just do it, if it you don't like how it looks, you can try again!

The beautiful sheer ribbon you see is from Flourishes! I love this ribbon, and cannot wait to use more of it! It ties like a dream. For this card I used a glue dot to attach. The adhesive gems are from GinaK Designs.
