Countdown to Christmas! Stamp Simply Style!

Welcome to Thursday!  I hope this day finds you well and ready for more Christmas goodness!  If you are looking for great value in preparation of gift tags, I have the products for you!  Lets get started!

Talk about simple and economical!  Right now at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, Melissa Frances tag sets are the perfect choice to get those tags ready and waiting for holiday wrapped gifts, gift bags, good gifts, etc.  For today's tags I used Melissa Frances Countdown to Christmas! I added my own stamping of "to & from" along with the trees, package and sentiment. The stamps are found in another sale item, My Minds Eye Winter Wonderland Stamp Set. What a cute set for simple stamping!  I added simple ribbon, string and adhesive rhinestones!  

Here is a second set of tags where I mounted onto die cut cardstock and designer paper.  I added even a bit more trim and ribbon.  And how do you like those snowflake sequins?  Sharon has all kinds of sequins at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! I am loving this polka dot ribbon too!  I think these tags could really be adhered to a card base to create a special card if needed.

It's JustRite's August Release Day Three! Blue Skies Ahead!

Welcome to Day Three of Justrite's August Release!  Today we are featuring Becca Feeken's Amazing Paper Grace dies and stamps and I have a card to share!  A note regarding the umbrella handle.  The lower curved end is a die cut from Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups which I just realized is discontinued.  However, any set of a flower or leaf curl would work well.  I added a strip of white card stock to match the width of die cut to extend up and under the umbrella.  The seam binding bow hides the connection!

Looking for a Sign is a clear set featuring seventeen stamps.  I chose the Blue Skies sentiment along with the one decorative stamp for my tag embellishment.  All ink shading is accomplished using sponge daubers. 

I used the smaller Filigree corner die for my creation.  With the white card stock, I embossed the design, and also cut it using the designer red/white paper.  Other dies and items used are listed below in supply list. A gift to wrap? What to do? Embellish, Stamp Simply Style!

Happy Friday morning!  Last week my daughter asked if I had a wedding shower card and could I wrap a gift for a coworker who is getting married.  Why sure, I'm sure we can find a card and I certainly can wrap a gift!  

When she brought the bag of goods into the studio, I knew I was in trouble!  A waste basket, a shower curtain, soap dispenser and a shower caddy, etc. I did not have a box or gift bag that would accommodate these items! We placed all the items inside the wastebasket, but obviously the shower caddy was not going to fit.  So, I tied them together using 1.5" Silky Crushed Gold Ribbon! 

The three large flowers are Prima Classic Roses.  They each come on a wire stem!  Bonus!  They easily and instantly created a bouquet effect and a base to build the entire embellishment!  After twisting the three wires together, they were secured by wrapping the wires onto the side of the caddy.  There were tails from the 1.5" Silky Ribbon that I pulled up into the flowers before trimming.  Also 1.25 Taupe Silk Ribbon is looped and tied onto the wire side of the caddy.  The 2" wide Silk Melissa Frances Tulle Ruffle Layered Trim is glued to the underside of the rose base. Since there were metal birds on the shower caddy, I knew these Prima Birdsong Script Birds would be perfect.  I glued one atop of another to create dimension.  There are twelve of these pretties in a package! A Gallery Rose - Quillen to finish off the entire embellishment is also glued on the flower base! 

And there we have it!  A gift not wrapped so to speak, but embellished and presentable to the bride to be!  Searching for a card was not as easy!  We decided to go with THIS card I had previously made using Becca Feeken Stamp  Background, Vintage Alphabet Soup HERE.  We removed the "you" so the card simply read "Love" and now appropriate for the gift. This card sports silk, satin, and seam binding ribbons from The Stamp Simply Store and is tied onto the top of the caddy by slipping the card into a Clear Envelope.  I punched two holes into the top of the clear envelope and tied it onto the top of the shower caddy! Voila', mission accomplished!

Snowflake Legend, Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Style!

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!  Today I have two embellished snowflakes to share!  Years ago I used this Snowflake Legend on smaller snowflakes and I loved them. You can find that post HERE.  Then last year I embellished this snowflake HERE.  Recipients seemed to enjoy them too! Here in West Michigan, it definitely is still winter with snow on the ground! I always leave any snow related decor up until March!  And since I'm leaving "The Tree" up year round, this is a perfect time to embellish with snowflakes, no?  One of my after holiday sale finds this year was this beauty purchased at Hobby Lobby!  It spans ten inches and packs sparkle!  I'm thinking you still might be able to find snowflakes at Michaels or Hobby Lobby and now cheaper than half off too!    

The Snowflake Legend (entire legend is located at the end of this post) is computer generated and cut using a Spellbinder Classic Oval Die.  The tag bases are from a pack of Melissa Frances Tags!  They are beautiful, simple to use, and what a great buy with eight of each size included in the set.  The Floppy Pink Blossom turned butterfly is also a Melissa Frances product.  The blossoms are sewn onto netting.  You may want to use more that one if that's the look you're going for.  For this embellishment, I really wanted just a small piece of the trim, so I clipped one of the blossoms leaving the netting and sewing intact.  As I was playing with them, as they are so soft and wonderful, what did my eye see?  A butterfly!  The blossoms are folded and laid flat to achieve this look.  Score! More ways to use trims and supplies is a plus in my book! Seam Binding, snowflakes, and 120 long Pearlized Pins as antennae complete the butterfly look!  The smaller tag sports cotton 5/8" Cotton Lace which is around the Spellbinders Oval Die cut along with more Seam Binding and 1/8" Velvet Ribbon. 

This snowflake spans about five inches and is sparkly too! To this Melissa Frances tag base, I used 1/8" Velvet Ribbon, Seam binding, Silk ribbon along with another Melissa Frances Floppy Blossom Pink Trim butterfly!  Here I used the Velvet Ribbon as antennae. Kaisercraft adhesive pearls are used on both tag embellishments. Metallic Silver String is also used on both snowflake embellishments.  

A closer view of this Tag shows the shading of Tim Holtz Tattered Roses Distress Ink.  The White Loop trim on the tag left side adds a super base for the Velvet Ribbon.  All ribbons, trims and die cuts are adhered using Scor Tape and Therm O Web 3D Foam Squares.  I cannot wait to place these on "The Tree" and watch how the lights will dance and sparkle!  Tune in on Thursday to see pictures of "The Tree" with these lovely snowflake legend ornaments!

Snowflake Legend

Long, long ago, a shining

It's about all recycling & Christmas Stockings, Stamp Simply Style!

Happy Friday to you!  I hope you have had a great week!  I've been thinking Christmas!  How about you?  Actually, ever since I saved cardboard Christmas stocking inserts last year, I have been thinking specifically about how I was going to use them this Christmas!  Sigh, I know they say it's a sickness, but I disagree!  I prefer to call it frugal, fun, and well, maybe, just maybe a tiny bit creative!

These are what I'm talking about! How could I throw these away?  They take up little room, great weight as far as cardboard inserts go, and such a great size!  And that would be approximately 14 1/2" long and 7" wide at the top.  I think if there would have been only one or two, they would've been thrown into the garbage file.  But, I purchased nine stockings!  So, it just was not right to throw any of these away!

The first step was to decide which one of these gorgeous Girl Land Papers were going to become stocking fronts. Once decided, I traced around the insert and cut two out. Next step was to machine stitch the front and back together.  Then onto embellishing! The Webster's Pages Girl Land Kit is fabulous, you can create beautiful cards, scrapbook pages and other paper craft projects, like recycled stocking inserts! It includes the finest heavy weight paper and quality embellishments. Here are some details:

• 12 12x12 Double-sided Papers
• 1 12x12 Die cut Paper Sheet
• 1 Storyteller Alpha Sticker Sheet (I used these on this pencil tree HERE)
• 2 6" Bling Strips
• 2 12" Bloomer Trims (The kit purple bloomers are what I used on one of the stockings)

For this particular stocking, the pink bloomers come from Webster's Pages Trim Pack. (next picture)  For the top of this stocking I chose to stamp on one of the stockings using SU Craft Ink with the JustRite Background Stamp, Embroidered.  I distressed the edges with my MM paper distress tool. There was enough stamped left to punch circles out and place those onto the circle patterns of the paper!  Do you see them now?  I stamped my sentiments with VersaFine Black ink onto scraps of the Girl Land papers.  These papers are two sided designed so you have lots of options here! Sentiments are found in Justrite's Large Fancy Holiday Set.  I cut the sentiments out using my Spellbinders A2 Fancy Weave Die!(also used one of these dies on a Halloween Treat tag, HERE) 

Pictured is the Girl Land Trim Card that I used for the pink bloomers.  The trims match and coordinate all the Girl Land papers!  The loop for each stocking was made with 1/8" Velvet Ribbon.  And the loopy ribbons on each stocking are all created with assorted Seam Binding. What did we ever do without Seam Binding?  Loops of Seam Binding are tied with Silver Metallic String before being glued to stocking front. 

Melissa Frances two layer silk ribbon ruffles is what is used on each stocking too, applying it with ScorTape. The bloomers are attached with ScorTape as well.  This embellishment is pure fabulous!  All other embellishments are adhered with Aleene's Tacky Glue.

I love how these turned out, I will use them to gift light weight items, most likely gift cards, candy, desk supplies, those type of things!  If anything, I would hang these as home decor!  But they are not for me, as I give almost everything I create away!  And I love doing that!
