Happy Halloween Witch Hat, JustRite!

Good Monday Morning to you! For my second witch hat I chose to embellish it with a stamped image from JustRite's final July release set, Happy Halloween! (the first hat is HERE) Wait till you see what the designers are making with this set!
Happy Halloween is a 2" round JustRite Original Set featuring 6 centers and borders that are interchangeable. The remaining images can't wait to get stamped and colored!
Here's a closeup of stamped image. The hat is stamped onto grey cardstock and colored with gray Copic markers. It is then trimmed out and popped up using foam dimensionals. Dazzling glitter for the hat buckle, ghost, and border adds a bit more fun!
To create the with hat, cut three pennants using Spellbinders Pennants die, (the largest pennant is used). Click on photos to enlarge and see detail.
Cut the hat bottom using the largest Lacey Circle Spellbinders die. I also used a smaller Lacey circle to frame the stamped image hanging from the hat.
The first pennant shows the markings & scor lines. The marking are 1/4" in from the outer edges. The middle pennant shows the cut away corners that overlapped from the scoring lines. The far right pennant reveals trimming of the points, I did not measure this, I just eyed it, it will not show in the final creation, so it's all good. Less fuss too!
Here are all three pennants marked, scored, corners trimmed. One pennant receives no tape, one pennant receives one side edge taped, and the third pennant has both side edges taped.

  • Peel tape & press side edges together inward.
  • What we see is the seam where the two sides meet on the outside.
  • At this time, start working the cardstock, rounding each side. Because the hat base is round, and my hat is three sided I want to get the hat as circular as I can without creasing the cardstock. Again, I'm not going to fuss too much because my ribbon is going to cover where the hat and base meet.
  • As you work the hat you will notice where the seams meet creates a point that needs to be trimmed as shown above.
  • I trimmed one point and used that piece to trim the other two points. Less fuss, as I know the ribbon will cover any imperfections.
  • Scor tape is applied to the tabs that are left on each side. Peel tape backing and attach hat to base.
I used sheer tinsel ribbon, ran a stitch down the center to gather. I proceeded with 1/4" scor tape, applying it to the seam, then pressed the gathered ribbon to attach. The gorgeous ribbons, string and scor tape are found at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store. There you have it! Another Happy Halloween creations in JULY! I hope you've enjoyed the new release sets as much as I have! Note: The Justrite CHA catalog is now available too for your viewing pleasure! To get yours, HERE's the info!

Charmed! Holiday Style!

Today JustRite is releasing Charming Christmas, a cling stamp set that coordinates with their Charmed Custom Spellbinders Dies. I have two small packaging ideas for you today! Here is a look at the entire JustRite Charming Christmas Set! I chose the two heart stamps for today's creation along with 2 sentiments. This set is a JustRite Cling set that features 12 stamps. Oh, how I love to coordinate stamping with custom dies and to add the Charming Christmas stamps for these dies is such a wonderful holiday treat!I re purposed a small white gift box and added a belly band that can be removed to allow the lid to be taken off. This box is perfect for a gift card, jewelry item, or a tiny trinket! The image is Copic colored with the little oval in the heart center trimmed out. This allows the sentiment to peek through the oval window. The berries were created using wired pearl trim. I cut them apart keeping a wire stem, Copic colored them to match my image, and added the glitter while the Copic marker color was still tacky. For the second package I took this small gem I picked up at my local dollar store around Valentines Day. I did not get it to the finish line at that time, so I thought it would be a perfect match for one of the heart tags. So I went from this to, this! Simple stamping, trimming out the heart oval, and adding the copper leafing around the edging pulls it all together with that gorgeous ribbon! I used the copper leafing pen to color the heart pins, I love how they turned out! All the terrific ribbons & trims are found at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store! There you have it! Two small gift packages that are charmed and tagged! Take good care and have a marvelous Monday!

Another Stampavie Image!

Here is a card using Stampavie Bobby and Me by Penny Johnson! I purchased this stamp at Joan's Gardens! I needed a little boy image for our grandson and this fit the bill nicely! Again it has been a long time coming getting it inky!
The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. I have been giving the X-Press It Blending Cardstock a try with my Copics. I like it! It has taken a bit to get used to, but the finish is smoother and I seem to get the blending with more ease. I got mine HERE at Ellen Hutson's store.
The designer paper is from October Afternoon's Fly a Kite found HERE at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store, cardstock is SU! All the embellishments are golden oldies from my stash! So there you have it! A card for our grandson! Now I have one more to make for our little Emma!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for making Explore. Dream. Discover. a stop on your blog visits today! I appreciate it! Take good care!

Stamp Simply with Sharon Johnson

WARM WINTER WISHES
I'm thrilled to be able to make a card for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply IT'S STILL WINTER Challenge! Yes, it's still the heart of winter, so BEFORE WINTER LEAVES US we are to make any type of card that makes one think WINTER -- and doing that without using a snowman or snowflake, all the better! Anything WINTER is what she's after! Check out Sharon Johnson's blog, No Time To Stamp? for more information and play along! I chose to use my new Karen Lockhart Stamp on my new inchies, perfect for a winter card! Image is colored with Koh-i-noor Woodless Pencils, blended with stumps and odorless turpentine. The mitten cuffs are fuzzy with flower soft applied with a glue pen. Cuttlebugged snowflake panel lends a texture base for the mittens and sentiment. I decided I wanted create my own sentiment, WARM WINTER WISHES. So, out came my handy JUST RITE Curlz Font and rectangular stamper.

JUST RITE fonts enable you to create whatever wording you desire! Using my 1 3/8 x 3 1/2 wooden rectangular stamper, I selected my letters and pressed them into the grooved surface. Here is the CURLZ fonts out of the box to show you the trays they are stored on. They stack on one another making storage easy with a top clear cover fitting on the top tray. There are five trays. I also want you to check out the three sizes of fonts that are in the set. 25pt, 50pt, and 95pt. I used size 50pt for the first letters of my words and 25pt on the remaining letters. All these options allows making custom sayings a snap!

Inked with Chalk Box warm red, I stamped my sentiment and used the largest die from spellbinders, tag trio. On the tag, an adhesive red gem for accent, with foam dimensionals popping the sentiment up completes the card. I LOVE the endless possibilities creating my own sayings using JUST RITE stampers. It's so easy and well, makes it just right!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Remember to check the Valentine LOVE blog candy HERE. Take good care and have a wonderful weekend. May it be filled with warmth, fun, and laughter for you and those you love.
