While shopping recently at Michaels, I found wonderful wooden boxes, all shapes and sizes for only 99 cents each! This first box, a star, has a removable lid with strong inset magnets in the lid and box body that hold the lid firmly in place. The finish on these boxes is nice and smooth, another plus, especially for only 99 cents. I covered this box with our grandson in mind, he's in love right now with choo choo trains, and this Basic Grey Oliver designer paper is perfect! I used scor tape to adhere the paper to box, then sanded the edges. I had this gold button in my stash and edged my die cuts with my Krylon gold leafing pen to pick up the gold color. Paper, scor tape, green twine, and pen are all found at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store. The entire Charmed set is loaded with possibilities. For my first wooden box, I chose the star tag to coordinate with my box shape. And you will see the use of the heart shape tag in my heart shape box featured further along in this post. Charmed is a JustRite Cling set featuring 15 stamps. Custom Justrite coordinating Charms Dies come in a set of 12 Spellbinder dies. I ustilized the largest star die along with the middle star die for my sentiment. Same for the heart shaped dies for the heart shape box below. Cosmo Cricket Delovely designer papers look so bright and cheerful on this heart box. Same application of paper to box using scor tape and sanding the edges. I added more embellishments to this heart box to give it more of a girly look! This heart shaped box has a hinged lid along with one of the inset magnets I was describing above. Super nice smooth finish to the wood, again all for 99 cents! I think these would be perfect tooth fairy boxes, maybe a special place to store a tiny treasure, or just a decorative items displayed on a shelf, whatever it will be used for, surely made with love! Let Friendship Bloom!

I'm in love with JustRite's new cling set, FRIENDSHIP BLOOMS! Not only does this set coordinate with Spellbinders New Labels Eighteen and Blooms Three dies, it will accommodate many centers that we have in our existing JustRite sets! Bonus! My card today is pretty straightforward! Basic Grey Kioshi designer paper and white cardstock is all the paper I utilized! Here is a look at the entire FRIENDSHIP BLOOMS set! I stamped my blooms with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink onto my designer paper. The stems and leaves were created using the border stamp with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. The sentiment is stamped with StazOn black ink. Machine stitching down the stem center and around entire panel finishes off the blooming look! Stamp Simply Ornaments!

Decorating for Christmas is HUGE! Giving small homemade gifts is another BIG thing. So, for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge we are combining the two! Our challenge is to make a Christmas Ornament OR an item of Home Decor that could be used yourself or as a small gift to give. You may alter a store bought item, create something from scratch! If creating a gift item or home decor item is not on your agenda right now, then make a card with some sort of ornament on it, easy enough! Just have FUN!

I chose to make a pocket ornament! After adhering my paper onto my ornament, I also attached a half piece, placing the scor tape on the bottom and up the two sides. On the sides I placed the edge in a bit to create more of a pocket feature. Paper is Basic Grey's Jovial. And oh my, here is that spectacular trim again! I used it around the ornament and could not let the tiny bit left go to waste! I trimmed the edge of a piece of ribbon! Makes a super hanger inserted into the top ornament hole. A look at the pocket, I will be giving several of these to family members for Christmas this year. I needed a pocket to place a gift card! Then the recipient can hang on tree, hang on the wall, keep empty or fill with greens! Besides the trim, I utilized a Webster's Pages Bloomer, silk and twill ribbons! See the leaves? These are the fall leaves from Prima that I cut to resemble holly leaves! Making good use out of all the goods!

Here is another version! A bit ornate for me, but so pretty just the same! Love the velvet ribbon inserted thought the lace! JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #5

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #5! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! This week, it’s the Stamp Simply design team! Remember, start your Wednesdays at 9am Central, beginning at the JustRite Inspiration blog! I decided to create gift card holders out of Toilet Paper tubes! Yuppers, that's right! I was browsing blogs for gift card ideas and came across several of these! I pressed the empty tube flat, then proceeded with my bone folder to make the tube as flat as I could get it. It will not lay totally flat, it's kinda like a pillow box. One end is held together using scor tape. All designer paper is from Basic Greys Oliver 6" x 6" pad found at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE! This holder shows the tabbed insert with a tab created with my SU label punch. I used twill ribbon, also found at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE, stapled onto each tab for easy removal and easy insert of the gift card.

A pic of the gift card insert. I simply folded up the bottom of the paper to create a pocket for the card. The sides are held with scor tape. Easy, so simple, and what Fun! We all have toliet paper tubes! For my stamping I used JustRite's Christmas Nested Frames & Occasions that can be purchased at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE. LOVE the frames, I colored the mine on today's holders with Copic markers.

JustRite Challenge Peace & Comfort!

Every Friday JustRite Stampers issues a challenge! There are fabulous prizes to be won, so it is definitely worthwhile to check the challenge out each week! HERE are all the details. The current challenge is to make a sympathy, thinking of you card, so this is my take for the challenge this week. The sheer ribbons are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. My card's outside image is taken from JustRite's Tiny Words Set. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored image with Copic Markers, B15. B17. BG13. I chose to brighten up the card inside. Same Copic markers used as mentioned above. The butterfly is created with a Martha Stewart punch. A MarvyUchida oval scallop punch is used to punch the sentiment image. Decorating a card inside was Splitcoaststampers Monday Challenge this week! Two challenges in one card! The card inside image is taken from JustRite's Thinking of You Set. Patterned paper is Basic Grey's Kioshi found at Joan's Gardens. Cardstock is Papertreyink and SU. SU photo corner punch with some piercing and adhesive gems add interest and frames the card front.

Friends are Flowers

IN THE GARDEN OF LIFE

They sure are! I made this card for a dear friend who just found out she has breast cancer. My dear, always cheerful, kind, and courageous friend. She was worried about my ankle! She dropped off homemade apple dumplings and friendship bread in the midst of her own medical news. Thank you, my friend, I am blessed beyond words.

Using the sketch this week from 2Sketches4You, I utilized one of my water colored floral images and papers from my Lilac Avenue kit. Check out sketch details HERE, and the Lilac Avenue kit HERE. The yellow scalloped punch out worked perfectly for the sketch. I also snipped along a few of the image lines so I could curl up pieces of the flowers and leaves. I love how much dimension this gives using one stamped image! Flower petals and leaves work especially well for this technique. Here is JustRite's Plant a Little Love set, The sentiment border used on my card is from JustRite's My Garden set. Ankle update: NO surgery needed, Alleluia! I have a cast and will go back to orthopedic doc in one month. No driving for me. However, I am getting better at those crutches! STAMP SIMPLY 113-Matchbook Fold

It's a Stamp Simply Friday! This week, Sharon Johnson's challenge is to use the matchbook fold in our creations! I am thinking Christmas, eyed the Ghiradelli seasonal chocolates, and this idea started playing out in my head! Matchbook style favors! Here is the matchbook open view. After measuring the chocolate, I decided on these measurements for my paper: 2 1/4" by 6 1/2" scoring 1" up from bottom, then 3" up from the 1" score line. Using my JustRite, A Merry Little Christmas, I stamped my image onto various coordinating papers I used for the matchbooks. JustRite is having a SALE! All Christmas sets are 20% off. And today you may start purchasing all JustRite's November release products! I played around with different edging on the bottom paper edge. So often, when I punch a border, and have extra, I place them by my punches. That way I try to see if I can use those first, especially for a project like these. Two sided designer papers are great for the matchbook style fold, because when open you get the coordinating design! The Ghiradelli seasonal chocolates come in three flavors, Peppermint Bark, Eggnog, and Pecan Pie. I purchased them at my local Walgreen Drug Store.

This paper strip worked out to have a coordinating color right on the edge, so I went with that! Added a Martha Stewart punched snowflake after stapling chocolate in place. These are wrapped wonderfully to do this! I used my Making Memories stapler with green staples!

Open view of all favors. I really created a variety to see which paper I will want for a holiday dinner. I will gift the others...but I chose the one with the button. I think it will go best with my table decor and dishes.

Are you ready to hop? Today is the first ever JustRite blog hop, just in time to celebrate JustRite's 2009 CHA first release! That's right, their first release is ready for shipping! Becca is guest blogging and NEW JustRite products are ready and waiting! Simply visit the website, to see all the great products that are shipping this week. For my creation today, I chose to use the new CELEBRATIONS DEMI PHRASES SET. When I first saw this set, I immediately thought the semi circle shape could form frosting on a cupcake!

I made six cards utilizing my Spellbinders scallop rectangle die. Next, I chose various colors of designer papers and embellishment to create a fun set. I have clear envelopes that I purchased at clearbags.com that will work perfectly! The cards are just the right size to hold a gift card, attach to a gift bag, or how about setting one of these along side a yummy cupcake!

Here is a sampling of three cards together! The colors are bright and fun, suitable for all ages! After stamping a Demi Phrase, I cut it out using a Spellbinders circle nestabilities die. Next, I trimmed the circle to create a straight bottom edge. Along the straight edge I used my scallop scissors, then shaded around the entire frosting piece.

JustRite Demi Phrases fit the 2" round wood stamper, as well as the 1 5/8" round and the 1 3/8" x 2 5/15" oval stamper. For my cards today I used the 1 5/8" round as you see set with the Sprinkled with Love phrase in the above photo.

I packaged the cards together in a cello bag, folded the top, punched two holes, and tied a ribbon to hold the bag closed. LOVE Sharon Johnson's ribbons! I placed the Happy Birthday demi phrase onto my rectangle wood stamper to see how it would stamp! I think it looks pretty good, and was so pleased with how quick and easy it was! Spellbinders tag trio die was used to cut stamped sentiment. A few more buttons and embellishments and the tag was all set, packaged and ready for gift giving! Three more cards, each with various embellishments and ribbons used. The cupcake liner was put through the crimper for a realistic cupcake liner look. Some designer papers show this better than others.

This lamb button has set on my work table for almost a year now! When I saw the Splitcoast Limited Supplies challenge yesterday, I was determined to get it on a card! SU cardstock and Basic Grey Ambrosia designer papers are utilized, and without planning it, by george this qualifies for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge! WooHoo! Other supplies used are Flower Soft, Kaiser adhesive pearls, Prima flower, button from my stash and black hemp. I used Colorbox Frost White and StazOn Jet black inks. Stamp sets are Papertreyink's My Punny Valentine and my JustRite 50pt. BRAYTON font using a Harmony 1 3/8 x 3 1/2 Rectangular wooden block. It is the coolest to be able to customize a sentiment to go along with the stamped image! It makes it, well, Just Right!

Peony Wish

One last taste of a summer favorite! This image is from Flourishes Peony set. I am pretty sure it is lily of the valley. Don't know if they come in colors, but that is what I chose to do with mine! It's stamping, right, you can make the images any color you choose! Using copic markers I colored away, I am loving these markers. DP is Basic Grey ambrosia, all other paper is Stampin UP. Martha Stewart butterfly punch with a couple of mini adhesive pearls add the perfect accent.

I use the same adhesive pearl to dot the i on my sentiment circle. This sentiment is from the goodies I won in the Just Rite contest! You cannot believe the enormous basket of stampers I received. I will post more about those later! I am soooo impressed with the clarity and ease these stampers operate.

IT ONLY TAKES ONE...

GinaK Designs illustrator, Carolyn King recently shared this heartfelt post regarding her recent stamp set, Whimsical Autumn. Carolyn talked about her "Mamo" - her grandma that passed away recently from the effects of Alzheimer's. She told us 100% of her proceeds from this set would go to the Alzheimer's Association, ALWAYS. I had the privilege of serving as a GinaK guest designer and can tell you, this company and their team are one of the best. I applaud Carolyn and GinaK for using their talents to contribute to so many worthwhile causes. It is important to give back, and it is a blessing to participate. I chose this apple basket for my first card. To me it symbolized a grouping, a bunch, plus one. The one apple is Cammie, the bunch is everyone that is connected to Cammie to raise awareness and funds. And, more are being added to the basket to join the fight and raise necessary funds for Alzheimers. It only takes one, one spark to get the fire going! Thank you, Cammie! The apples and basket are colored with Copic markers, simple gold tone hardware with ribbon treatment on the side! Scor pal embossing on top and bottom edges for added interest.
A little more than a week ago, Julie Koerber, Flourishes Design Team Coordinator notified the Flourished DT that they really wanted to contribute somehow to this cause. Many on the Flourishes team too have been affected by this horrendous disease. So, the Flourishes Design Team and Friends of Flourishes Blog Team ordered the set and decided to post a card on a day that means so much, TODAY - September 21st - World Alzheimer's Day.
I chose this pumpkin image and created a card in honor of Julie's Grandpaand all the Flourishes loved ones affected by Alzheimers. It is mind boggling to say the least that 5 million Americans live with Alzheimers. Every 71 seconds, someone will develop it and Alzheimers is the sixth leading cause of death. Tote-ally Spa-riffic, Just Rite Style!

Our two daughters have recently moved out on their own. Finances are tight for them and with the holidays approaching we have discussed making little gifts they could give friends, coworkers, etc. Recently, I acquired a bag of Bath and Body items. The items are hotel sizes and consist of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion! What a bag of treasure! I made two samples. Simple is key, since they too will be making totes. There is enough product to make ten! Hooray! I started by measuring the height of the bottles. I cut my Papertreyink clear box to that measurement. My selected dp is Basic Grey Eva. After deciding how much dp I wanted to show in front and back, I measured, cut and scored. A gift card could easily slide into the back, don't you think? I then used my JUST RITE wooden stamper along with the small letter set to create my words. SU markers were used on the stamp to get as close to the paper colors as I could manage! I stamped two of each and used circle punches to add color around the monogram letters for the centers. Papertreyink spring moss ribbon with SU hodgepodge slides does the trick for the tote handles. Small circles punched out of scrap pieces of dp for bottle tops, I didn't want to waste a bit. And again, easy and doable for my girls! Don't know if the girls will find Tote-ally Spa-riffic too corny or not! This Mom never knows! However, with JUST RITE products, it is easy enough to change and spell any message or sentiment you want! Gotta LOVE that! I am going to enter this into the Just Rite Stamping Champion contest for this week, even though the pictures are not the best! I apologize for the glare on the bottles and clear boxes! I took so many pictures and none turned out very well! I NEED to take a class! I have a card that is featured on the JUST RITE blog for one of this weeks picks for their Stamping Champion contest! Halloween Brew Just Rite!

Halloween treats to place on desks of ladies I work with. What a great alternative to candy. Just Rite products allow you to create any message, name, sentiment you desire! So, how about a tea bag, with a cinnamon stick to stir in the brew?

The tea bags are Earl Grey and come unwrapped in a canister. I placed them individually in small cello bags purchased years ago at clear bags.com. Memento Rich Cocoa ink for stamping, along with the Kaiser Pearls make this a snap to complete!Two large scallops of Basic Grey Ambrosia dp are folded over at varying heights and stapled onto the folded bag. The stamped circle covers the staple.
