Blessed New Baby!

JustRite, and just for Finnean!
Here is an ensemble I made for a special new baby! His name, Finnean, comes from his Irish heritage, and his nickname is Finn! I chose to stamp his nickname onto twill tape for the burp cloth and onto the boat sail for the card. The fabric is flannel on the burp cloth and is hand stitched onto the cloth diaper. A bit of the flannel edge shows on the backside of the diaper to present a more finished look. The edges of cloth diapers are awful! They are crooked, not stitched well, etc. So I thought this was a better way to go. The twill tape and ribbon are first machine stitched onto the flannel material strip, so the stitching is hidden. My hand stitching pretty much non visable too! Have I mentioned how much I love to hand stitch? LOL The crocheted blanket is a big step for me! I taught myselt to crochet last June! Nothing fancy, just double crochet back and forth, with an edging! I knew I wanted a baby card for this set and went browsing over on Splitcoaststampers after searching "baby" in the gallery. I spotted THIS and went from there! Thanks so much for the inspiration, Rochelle! I loved the sailboat look, and thought it would work well with the flannel fabric on the diaper. I added my own touches and love how it turned out! Sentiment is from Just Hatched, Papertreyink. All cardstock and patterned papers are Papertreyink. The blue striped ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's, My Ribbon Sale and the blue twill ribbon on the diaper burp cloth is Papertreyink. How much do I LOVE my JustRite vertical stamper? Well, when I chose the sailboat card design, I wanted to follow through with the same name used on the burp cloth. The letters stamped horizontally using my round 1 5/8 stamper just didn't fit the sail design, so I placed the same Brayton 50pt font onto my vertical stamper, utilizing the same Memento Rich Cocoa ink! Perfect! Talk about customizing and personalization at it's best! If you have not checked out the JustRite store lately, go take a look at all their new products! And be on the lookout for a special blog hop next week! Stay tuned! Take good care! Hope you are having a great week! A special Easter treat tomorrow!
