Cookie Cutters & Christmas Holly Stripes! JustRite Day Four August Release

Good Wednesday Morning! Welcome to Explore.Dream.Discover. I hope this day finds you well and wonderful! We are on Day Four of JustRite's August Release! Today I have two adorable ornaments to share!  They are simple, fun and can be embellished to your hearts desire!  Let's get started!

The Gingerbread Girl and Boy measure 2" in height and 1 3/4" wide across the arms.  I found these cutters after Christmas last year at our local hardware!  On clearance, of course!  Luckily they had four girls and one boy, just what I need!  The ribbons and embellishments can be as little or as much as you desire!  All product I used today is in supply list at the end of this post!  JustRite is featuring two background stamps, Christmas Holly Stripes and Holly Frame.  Below is an outline of how I made altered these cookie cutters into ornaments!

  • First step, stamp this lovely background stamp, Christmas Holly Stripes onto white card stock.
  • Next, lay Cookie cutter flat onto stamped card stock, tracing the inside of cutter before scissor trimming. (For this size cutter, I can get five out of one stamped background!)
  • Decide if you will cover outer sides of cookie cutters.  If you do, place Scor Tape onto metal, pressing & trimming ribbon.  (I suppose you could easily use designer papers or stamped paper too, but I like ribbon!)
  • Because metal cookie cutters can be odd shaped and become slightly mis-shaped as you work, I apply trim on the front edge to help camouflage those edges. To accomplish this, place 1/8" scor tape on the very inner edge of the cookie cutter front and press on trim.  (I used new mini cording on mine, LOVE it!)
  • If you want to color stamped image, it is easier to color before placing the shape into the cookie cutter. (For these, I used a sponge dauber with ink to apply a bit of color to the stamped design)
  • Use a CropAdile or tool that can cut through metal, to punch hole in top of cookies cutter.  Thread preferred ornament hanger of your choice through hole and knot allowing the knot to stay hidden behind the stamped card stock and up inside the cutter.
  • You are now ready to embellish!  Use die cuts, ribbons, trims, flowers, some sparkle, etc. to add your own special touch.

It's JustRite's August Release Day Three! Blue Skies Ahead!

Welcome to Day Three of Justrite's August Release!  Today we are featuring Becca Feeken's Amazing Paper Grace dies and stamps and I have a card to share!  A note regarding the umbrella handle.  The lower curved end is a die cut from Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups which I just realized is discontinued.  However, any set of a flower or leaf curl would work well.  I added a strip of white card stock to match the width of die cut to extend up and under the umbrella.  The seam binding bow hides the connection!

Looking for a Sign is a clear set featuring seventeen stamps.  I chose the Blue Skies sentiment along with the one decorative stamp for my tag embellishment.  All ink shading is accomplished using sponge daubers.

I used the smaller Filigree corner die for my creation.  With the white card stock, I embossed the design, and also cut it using the designer red/white paper.  Other dies and items used are listed below in supply list. I hope your skies are blue today where you are! I will be back tomorrow with some Christmas goodness!  See you then!

Day TWO, JustRite August Release, Just Because!

It's all about the DOILY today for Day TWO of JustRite's August Release!  I have two cards to share and have to say, I had a LOT of fun creating these.  I hope after you check these out, you will give this technique a try too!  I first started with white paper doilies!  I then took my Faber-Castell Markers and quickly colored the inner portion of the doily.  I then misted water on it before the marker ink dried, that is key.  If it dries before you get water on, the ink will not bleed.  And that is what we want it to do!

Samantha Walker's Dainty Doilies is a clear set featuring 17 stamps.  The combinations of stamp usage are endless!  After the water misted doilies were dry I stamped my images.  After that step I cut doilies apart and adhered to card stock.  I then mod podged the doilies to cardstock.

For this doilie, I cut the entire doilie out once adhered to red card stock and placed it upon another piece of red card stock before adding my ribbon & embellishments!  The edges of this doilie is trimmed using a metallic Faber-Castell pen.

August JustRite Release Begins Today!

Welcome to Day ONE of JustRite's August Release!  There is so much goodness to share for this release!  The designers have been busy and I know you are going to be wowed when you see what they have been creating!  Let's get started!

I created a square card for Day One utilizing the size of the square die as my guide! The simple Christmas sentiment is found in JustRite's Christmas Labels Twenty, stamped with Adirondack Currant ink and cut using an oldie SU Punch! The Silver Leaves are trimmed down before being pinched & glued at one end. I then glued the pinched ends in a circle to create a wreath and included the tiny green leaves in the round!

Silver paper is cut using the spectacular dies found in Lacey Tiers Dies.  They are just exquisite, no? I used the two largest dies from this set with silver paper from Michaels. Be sure to visit the following JustRite Designer's BLOGS for inspiration galore!  Click on their  individual names to take you to each respective blog. Enjoy!  Stop back tomorrow for Day Two!

Christmas in July! Cardinal on Pine Branch!

It's still Christmas in July! I love creating for the holidays in July!  The frantic last minute feeling is not in place, yet, and is a bit more relaxed!  So, today I have a Christmas/Winter card that can easily be used for the holidays or well into the winter season!  Isn't this the cutest cardinal image ever?
Stampavie Cardinal on Pine Branch Stamp, designed by Tina Wenke is found at

It is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers. Shadowing is created using a sponge dauber loaded with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink.  The stamped image is cut using a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight die as is the white outer decorative frame.  The red and green panels are cut using Spellbinders Label Eight dies.  The ribbon embellishment is created using 3/8" red/green grosgrain ribbon, tied with tan mini cording. Atop the bow is two faux suede leaves, (red & tan) along with two single satin trees!  So love the many color choices of these elements that enables perfect coordination!  I used the Sig Painty White Chisel edge marker for that perfect white dot for the cardinal's eye!

Boxed Card, Bag & Tulle equals A Great Gift Presentation!

Remember this baby card HERE?  When I went to gather the baby gift items and place them in a gift bag,  I decided to utilize these fantastic clear boxes from The Stamp Simply Store and place the card inside!  The clear boxes come in three sizes and are an economical choice that creates a presentation WOW!

Since my card measured 5" square, I chose the 5.5" x 5.5" size square clear box.  They come flat, so after forming the box I closed the bottom flap.  Next step was to place two strips of 1/2" Scor Tape onto the back of the box.  I measured my gift bag, and placed the clear box upon the gift bag to adhere it, keeping my hand inside the box to press securely.  I then inserted the card and closed the top flap.

The pink tulle bow was very easy to accomplish!  I tied it directly on the bag handles before gluing a Prima Interlude Pink flower atop the bow center. This pink tulle is 6" wide, comes on a roll of 25 yards for only $4.29!

There you have it!  A real economical, simple & doable gift presentation idea that will sure to wow the recipient!  I LOVE how this turned out!  Sharon is a master at using these clear boxes for her card presentations!  She has several up on her blog today!  HERE is the link!  Enjoy the inspiration!

For My Friend

Good Morning!  I'm blogging for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and have a card "For My Friend" to share with you today!  I love Samantha Walker stamps and dies!  And that is exactly where my inspiration came from for this creation!

I created my own designer paper for this card using Samantha Walker's Sweet Lace Background stamp! The butterflys are also from this stamped image.  The sentiment is found in her Bunting & Banners Set.  I used a dauber to rub onto the dry embossed area of the die cut frame.  The dies for the frame, interior area, and butterflies is Samantha Walkers Spellbinders JR Butterfly Corner Set.  Embellishing with a Prima Fairytale Rose, Seam Binding, Velvet Ribbon, Kaisercraft Pearl Flourish, and a fabulous Darsie Bruno stick pin!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out Sharon's Blog, HERE for all the latest store additions, awesome creations & inspiration!

Merry Christmas Cardinal Background

My card features one of two stamp sets being featured in JustRite's July Release today!  The Christmas Cardinal was colored using pastel chalks and q-tips!  Pastel chalks is one the first art mediums I used and I'm still loving them today!  I always mist my finished chalk work with Krylon Matte Finish to prevent the colors from smudging! I scissor cut the colored image before gluing it to the top card panel.

Christmas Cardinal is a deeply etched red rubber background stamp that is mounted on static cling foam.  I stamped the image twice, once with PTI Fresh Snow Ink and once with Memento Black Ink.  I proceeded with some fussy cutting and used Therm O Web foam dimensionals to lift the stamped panel and allow the coordinating designer paper peek through behind the cardinal. Kaisercraft rhinestones, and a bow made with seam binding and faux canvas ribbon complete the card embellishing!  Designer paper used is from the new Kaisercraft Holly Bright paper pad!

Noel Christmas in July!

Welcome! Today I have a trio of package tags all packaged for gift giving!  You will find the Noel Christmas Ornament Stamp Set and dies I used for this creation at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store along with many other products utilized!

It's Christmas in July at The Stamp Simply Store!  Sharon has been filling the store daily with all the new goodies!  Be sure to check out the store HERE for all Christmas products and her blog for ongoing inspiring ideas HERE.

For my project, I utilized JustRite's Noel Christmas Ornaments Set to stamp three ornament shaped tags. Love the variety of sentiments in this set too and used three different ones on each stamped ornament!
One of the advantages to the Noel Christmas Ornaments Set is that is includes three different ornament shapes.  A GREAT option, all in one set.  And it happens to be on sale too at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!  The tag body and tag front are cut using Spellbinders Heirloom 2011 Dies
The designer paper used on this creation is from Graphic 45 French Country 8" x 8" paper pad. As you begin your holiday creating, don't forget about all those papers that are not necessarily considered holiday papers but will work well for a project such as this.
Kaisercraft adhesive rhinestones are the perfect and easiest embellishment, no?  They come in various colors and sizes, you can find them HERE.  I adhered all papers, borders and embellishments using Scor Tape. This superior tape comes in many widths and is found HERE. I stamped and die cut a Noel tag for the container top utilizing the sentiment Noel along with a border included in the set. A silk bow, with faux canvas ribbon and a few rhinestones finish the package nicely!  Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you're having a terrific Thursday!
