How about a reindeer creation today? I purchased this felt bag at my local Dollar General Store for a dollar! I added a neck bow, button nose, and ribbon on the handles! Fun embellishing to jazz the bag up creates the perfect packaging for a few cards! I made three cards to place inside the bag. Here is the card front. I used K&Company Die-Cut Cardmaking pad for my card paper. Oh how easy this is to pull the sheet off the pad, scor, and ready to add the details!

The reindeer image is found in this Rubber Soul set, Stylized Christmas. It is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Spellbinder dies are used to cut the image and frame. I utilized the same ribbon I stitched onto the bag handles for a neck bow. The string is MS Bakers string and Kaiser adhesive red pearl for the reindeer nose!

Here is the card inside! A strip of reindeer paper placed on a distressed piece of SU cardstock is perfect for the reindeer trim! I glued the trim on and trimmed the edged to fit. For the sentiment I selected another stamp from Stylized Christmas and stamped with the rich cocoa ink. The sentiment is one stamp, but upon looking at it, you could easily cut the words apart to create three individual words to use as a single or combine them! Bonus!

And another card inside using yet another Stylized Christmas sentiment! I think this deer trim would be perfect for the hunters in your life too. There you have it! My Black Friday creation! Products on sale from my post today are ribbons by the spool, K&Company Yuletide, Glad Tidings, and Blue Awning Papers.

Be sure and check the other designer's creations and see what else is on SALE! Have Fun!

Joy of the Holidays! Stamp Simply Black Friday!

It's Friday! Actually it's Black Friday here in the US! The day after Thanksgiving is when the Christmas shopping season begins and retailers hope to get their books from the red into the black! So, for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge today, we will use Black in our creations. Use it as one of your feature colors, accents, black ribbon, whatever works for you. Just have FUN! For my Black Friday creation I chose to gussie up this gift bag! It is a beautiful mirrored silver paper bag. I tried several times to take a picture that did it justice but as you can see I did not succeed! The black images on the bag are actually flocked, just scrumptious. I replaced the bag handles with black velvet ribbon! Embellished the stamped bag tag with a piece of Webster's Vintage Inspired netting, and a Webster's Pages Sparklers button! The stamped sentiment is found in my Clearly Wordsworth Set, Classic Christmas by Rubber Soul! I also edged my Spellbinder die cut with my Silver Leafing pen. Now I have a gift bag all set to go! Velvet ribbon, netting, sparkler button, stamp set, leafing pen and Spellbinder die are all found in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!

Blackberry Scripture Tea, Velveeta Cheese, and Honey, OH MY!

My take on Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge is a bit of a stretch this week! It's all about canning, freezing or drying your summer harvest! Are you still doing that or preparing those previously preserved goodies for Thanksgiving or Christmas? Today is all about preserving our fruits of the harvest. So here's the stretch, my food related item is tea, Blackberry Tea! It counts, right? I've food related items throughout the project too! Wherever today's challenge brings you, whether using food type stamps, papers or embellishments on a creation, decorating a jar of canned goods, or even wrapping a chocolate bar, it's all good!
How about a box to hold that tea! This was super simple to create! So simple that I created twelve of these boxes (yet to embellished)! The box top sentiment is stamped with a Verve Stamp that Sharon now carries in her store! This was my first experience stamping with Verve stamps and I have to say I love the clear stamp quality! And the ability to buy single stamps is a plus! How did the box begin? With a food carton of course! See, I'm getting the food relating in there! Ahhh, yes Velveeta cheese! I made mac and cheese last week and could not bring myself to throw away the container! I loved the simple construction! I traced onto my designer papers and cut out. The paper on this box is K&CO Yuletide. I just saw Sharon only has two kits containing this paper left in her store. Here is a look at the box base, the lid is what holds the sides together when assembled. Each tea bag has a scripture on the tea tag. I bought tea bags at my local Cracker Barrel Restaurant. There is a website if you are interested, http://www.scripturetea.com/, I have not visited the site yet, but hope to soon! Let me know if you do! Two honey sticks are a perfect addition! More food related items! LOL The honey is flavored, I purchased them at a bakery and wish I'd bought more! Close up of the box reveals trim used on the lid top edge and along the bottom edge. I am in love with this trim, once the scor tape is applied to the trim back, it easily bends in half, allowing half the trim on the box top, and the other half on the box side. So pliable and smooth, giving such a finished look! You can purchase this trim at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. You will also find the gorgeous silk ribbon there too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I really appreciate it! I do hope you get the chance to play along with The Stamp Simply Challenge this week. If you upload your creation to a public forum, please use keyword ssnotime166 and/or upload on Sharon's Mr Linky! Take Good Care!

JustRite Friday Challenge!

For our JustRite's Friday Challenge this week, we are partnering with FlowerSoft! Have you seen FlowerSoft's new gold and silver diamond range? I used the gold on my project today, along the ornament edging, and on a band across the middle. It's one of those creations that kept growing as I went along!
The KaiserCraft ornament is approximately 5 1/4" x 6 1/2" and is about 1/4" thick. It is made of a pressed board material and is extremely sturdy. I started by adhering my designer paper to the ornament, sanding the edges, and applying scor tape all around the ornament edging. The excess tape that extends up from the edging is pressed down securing the Webster's pages netting. The tape also how the FlowerSoft Gold is attached.
The ornament sentiment is found in JustRite's Christmas Nested Sentiments and Verse and cut using Spellbinders Tags Trio Die #2.
This was a hard creation to photo! The trims and ribbons grew and grew! I love the crinkle ribbon along with the sheer. The purple trim is from Webster Pages Holiday designer trim package. Purple snowflakes are from Hero Arts, along with Martha Stewart punched snowflakes with a gold glitter center.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Check out the JustRite blog for the latest and greatest JustRite creations and news. Remember there is always prizes to be won with JustRite challenges! I hope you get inspired and play along this week! Take good care!

I have a gift to share today! I repurposed a box that contained beverage napkins, I thought it would make a terrific card box! I added my own sentiment from JustRite's Christmas Nested Sentiments and a silk bow to the box lid! Simple enough without fuss, much needed as the holidays approach! The box has room to house four 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"cards. All have the same elements, just vary in colors. This image is just the sweetest! I adore him, all images have been Copic colored! A peek at the JustRite Original stamp set, Groovy Snowman! I LOVE these images, and love that I'll be able to utilize this set well into the winter months! Remember, this JustRite original is one of sets on sale through November 29! What a grand snowlady, all decked out in her purple, green, red, and gold attire! Cardstock used is Papertreyink, and SU. Various designers papers are from my scrap drawer! This particular card was the first of the set I created, you may remember it from THIS POST! I added a little more color on his cheeks and snowflake. Here is another snowlady! And she is groovy for sure! Bakers string and twine used is found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I did machine stitch on all cards, and utilized my Spellbinders classic scallop circle, basic circle, and tags trio dies.
All in all a terrific way to repurpose a wonderful box, filled with groovy goodness! Enjoy the hop and have a wonderful Wednesday! Please visit these blogs to see what fabulous JustRite Christmas inspiration they have for you! JustRite Inspiration Blog

Christmas Colors? What are you Favorites?

It's time for Sharon's annual Non-traditional Christmas Colors Stamp Simply Challenge! This week, let's make Christmas cards or projects in NON-traditional Christmas colors, meaning NO typical red and green. To get you thinking, some personal favorites of Sharon's are Bashful Blue, Amethyst, Celery, Pink or Rose. I went with the Pink, Rose, and Celery for my Advent project today!
ALL papers on this creation are from Sharon's YULETIDE kit, the ribbons too! I did add some velvet ribbon around the box, and some of the velvet ric rac on the inside.

A bit of Grandma's writing! This tag is from the tag pad in the YULETIDE kit, as are the adhesive rhinestones. FYI, all kit contents are also available for individual purchase! The advent box is a Kaiser product that I got from Ellen Hutson. You can see the top of the individual boxes with white acrylic paint on the edges, I only painted the edges of the boxes and edges of the large box! All paper is adhered using scor tape with edges sanded! What a labor of love, I've been working on this all week! I'll post again with all the stamping details!

Angel Baby Card & The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Blog Hop Winner!

Guess what? My blog was the mystery blog for this weeks Stamp Simply Ribbon Store BLOG HOP! Yuppers! I googled Random.org and the lucky number is commenter #43! Congratulations to Denise!!! Please email your address so Sharon can get that gorgeous ribbon package out to you at bjshome@sbcglobal.net, thank YOU!
Denise said... That's a great project Barb! Just love that Graphic 45 paper.
I needed a baby shower gift card today and the card pictured above is what I came up with! No stamping! Just working with paper, ribbon, flowers, & dies! I used an image from Crafty Secrets Baby Girl Cotton Scraps! There are many usable images on the sheet, making this very economical! Available are a variety of Cotton Scraps found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! My white card base is PaperTreyink white stampers select cardstock, that has been die cut with Spellbinders Labels Eight, #6 then dry embossed with Cuttlebugs Kassies Brocade folder.
The flower at the card top is one from the right hand package pictured above. They are Prima Flowers, Lilliput Roses Marshmallow available at The Stamp Simply Store. I used my dauber and Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress ink to pink the petal edges.
The smaller roses come from the far right package of Prima Flowers pictured above! I love they come in various shades! Again I rubbed tattered rose ink onto the lightest one used.
How about that tinsel edged ribbon? I've been using this ribbon on some of my holiday creations and love it so much, I ordered the pink! It's perfect for a girly card! Around the small oval I folded the ribbon in half, stitched along the fold line, gathered and scor taped it around the back edge allowing the gather to frame the oval.
The Dies are Spellbinders new Beaded Ovals. For this card I used #2, #3, and #4, and also Classic Large Oval #4 to create the pink frame. The Angel sentiment is cut from the Cotton Scraps and the pink 100% jute string is super wonderful to work with! You should see all the colors it comes in! I think that about covers all the supplies used, I hope the Mom to be will enjoy this special card!
Congratulations to Denise, our Stamp Simply Store Blog Hop winner! And thank you to all who visit and leave comments, it is appreciated so very much! Take good care!

It's Tag Time for Stamp Simply Challenge164!

For Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge we are talking TAGS! Tags are small canvases to decorate that we pass along, on a gift or use to embellish a card or other project. ANY tag you might need for any occasion is great for today's challenge, the main requirement, HAVE FUN making tags!
I chose to make Christmas tags mainly to use on holiday packages and present the entire set as a gift in a coordinating package. Using my K&Company Yuletide Kit contents, I got to work!
The packaging I used is a 8oz cream cheese box! I have been saving this for some time, and realized the Yuletide Tag Pad tags would fit perfectly! The pad contains 24 tags and I used eight for my creation today. You can see my scor tape placement, I remove the tape backing one strip at a time, allowing me to manage the paper and keep it aligned with the box edges as I apply it.
Three of the tags here! The far right tag has two Yuletide adhesive chipboard stickers. I love this option for embellishing. I knew if I used the "Peace on Earth" sticker, it would stick up too far on the tag top edge and would be too tall to fit into my box. As I looked the stickers over, I realized they are layered, with the top layer smaller than the bottom but with the same main image. Carefully removing the top layer, I got the size I needed and left the bottom layer to use another time. Double the stickers! So instead of the 18 that come in the Yuletide Adhesive Chipboard package, I potentially could have 36! Score!
Two more, the crinkle ribbon is included in the kit too. This is the first time I've worked with crinkle ribbon! What Fun! And I do not have to worry if it gets scrunched in the box! Perfect!
My box holds all eight tags! I love the box flap, as it tucks in nicely and holds shut. This makes it easy, no fastener needed! Each tag is backed with cardstock from my scrap drawer. The edges are all sanded, as are the box edges. All materials used in today's project are from the K&Company Yuletide Kit found at The Stamp Simply Store. The Prima flower on box lid is also found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!
A peek at how I finished the tag backs. I looped the ribbon, thread it through my punched hole, and taped to the tag back. I then punched a circle and used scor tape to attach, covering ribbon ends! Most likely I will give this little item as a holiday hostess gift! I hope she'll like it! Phew, another holiday project checked off the list! Have a great weekend everyone! Take Good Care!

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 9

Welcome to WEEK 9 of JustRite Stampers’ Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection! JustRite has some Christmas stamps in their newly released CLING line of stamp sets too that you can find HERE. This week, designers joining the JustRite design team is the Just Us Girls (JUGS) challenge blog design team! Welcome girls!
For the month of November, we thought we would switch gears a little and throw in some holiday gift ideas using your JustRite stamps! And in celebration of JustRite’s 9th and 10th weeks of Christmas Blog Hops, take 25% off All JustRite Original Christmas Stamps now through November 15, with FREE shipping within the United States. Don't forget to tell Santa! For my creation today, I made a ABC Match Game for our grandson! He's really into letters right now and this is a perfect gift for him! I hope I can wait until Christmas to give this to him! The October Afternoon ABC cards come in a set and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I used two sets to get two cards of each letter, hence creating a match game! Of course simple letter recognition, using the coordinating words & pictures are a benefit too! Just look at the darling illustrations on the cards! I was pleasantly surprised when I turned the cards over to find a surface I could personalize! Mixing and matching (pun intended!) JustRite's newest font, Myriad Pro in different pt. sizes allowed me to come up with a wonderful way to personalize each card! Above is 95pt font in upper and lower case. This is the size used for the box name and ABC. Here is JustRite's Myriad Pro Font in 50pt size, I used both upper and lower case for the wording on card backs. I love the clean straight lines of this font! And since this is a Christmas gift, I added this sweet sentiment to the box backside! All the paper is from October Afternoons, Report Card. I cut out the box front alphabet and wording from a page in this paper pad as well! The outer stamped border and center are from JustRite's Christmas Joy set. The box embellishments are all attached to the removable belly band that slides onto the box. Just a hunch, I suspect one day this will be taken off and the inside cards and name will remain! Kaylub's Mommy will probably keep the belly band in his keepsakes!
So there you have it! A super simple way to spruce up an idea that is perfect for gift giving! I say it every time I use JustRite's fonts, so here goes again! There is nothing like receiving a gift with your name on it! JustRite fonts allow me to do just that! And that's what makes the perfect gift JustRite! Take good care!
