How about a baby Christmas ornament today? I made this First Christmas Booties set for our new granddaughter born last Saturday, weighing in at 7lbs. She is a honey! The pattern is a Babies Booties Simplicity #2397 pattern. I'd been in my local fabric store a while back, and with all the babies arriving in our family, I thought I would try my hand at sewing some felt booties. After getting the pattern home, viewing it on my desk for a couple months, I kept thinking there are so many papers that would make terrific booties. So, today's booties set is my first attempt, and OH, how I love having a pattern at my fingertips! I will be looking at fabric sewing patterns in a whole new way! Paper is K&Company Madeline.

The trim used on these adorable booties is a pliable 1/4" Ringlet Ivory, found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Adhering 1/4" scor tape to the backside of the trim allowed me to attach the upper edge of trim to the booties top, and the lower trim edge to the booties bottom. As shown, I also attached the trim around the entire booties tie area. The sheer, silk ribbons, pink string, and Prima flowers are all from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store as well.
I used one of the snowflake images from JustRite's Whimsical Christmas Set for the tag. It is stamped with Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress ink. The first three layers also has this ink applied to the edges.
The upper wording of the tag is from JustRite's Holiday Demi Phrases Set. I love having the option of using ready made phrases and adding my own personalization on the tag lower tag border. It makes everything JustRite!

And for the lower border wording I utilized JustRite's Times New Roman 15pt. font. The phrase and words are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. And for the year stamped upon the snowflake, I used Times New Roman 50pt. font. Using a clear stamper enabled me to stamp over my snowflake image with perfect placement! After assembling my paper booties using scor tape, I lightly brushed the entire booties, inside and out with DecoArt DuraClear Varnish. Very light coats, as not to saturate the paper, this added more durability and a shine to the completed set.
