Margie's Salad Dressing/JustRite Mega Font Hop/Day TWO

While our girls were growing up, we lived in a wonderful neighborhood, with terrific neighbors. Because we lived quite a distance from relatives, and my hubby always worked holidays, weekends, our neighbors became family. We ate together, celebrated birthdays, and helped one another often. One particular couple, were school teachers, with Margie teaching Home Economics. Boy, could she cook! I learned so much from her, and she and her husband were like grandparents to our girls. What a blessing!
We have since moved from that wonderful neighborhood, Margie and her hubby retired and moved north, and our girls have ventured away from the nest. I often share recipes from time to time at their request. Margie used to make this salad dressing often and it became a favorite! Thinking I wanted to create recipe cards for our daughters with this particular salad dressing recipe, led me to JustRite's Preserves Set. It is pictured above on my JustRite 2 3/8" round wooden block. I chose the salsa image but wanting the image to say "Salad" (instead of salsa) I reached for my JustRite Brayton Font. I used 50pt font for the word Salad, 50pt and 25pt for Margie's name on the card. I used my JustRite 1 5/8" round wooden block and JustRite 1 3/8" x 3 1/2" rectangular stamper to set my letters. I'm not fond of my own handwriting, but know when I reach for a recipe that has been handwritten by Margie it pulls at the heart. Hopefully my girls will feel the same.
As this idea developed, it seemed I saw items that were salad related and the gift grew! Bamboo salad utensils, an Oil/Vinegar Cruet, and look at that salad dish towel. All tied together with Papertreyink and Sharon Johnson ribbons! After backing the recipe card with black cardstock, I placed it atop a flat 6" X 8 1/2" cello bag for the photo. I trimmed the cello bag side to fit the card, hoping this will keep the recipe card looking like new! LOL The recipe cards are from Papertreyink.
Copics used: O(colorless blender), G07, G21, G24,G99, YG06, YG09, BV08, V12, V15, B17, R22, R27, YR09, YR65, Y08, Y15, Y17. Spellbinder circle die cut image is placed on black card stock. My salad banner is trimmed to circle, bottom vegetables are cut out and adhered with foam tape. I know my girls frequently visit here, so act surprised, ladies when I give you your Recipe Gift set!I hope you like!
