JustRite meets Petaloo for Holiday Hair Clips!

Welcome!  Hope this Tuesday finds you terrific! All this week JustRite is partnering with Petaloo!  That's right every day of this week, JR designers will be using Petaloo products on their creations!  Yesterday, JR featured designers were Michele and Marisa, click on their names to take you to each blog and peek their creativity! Today it's me and Debbie Olsen.

My share is two hair clips I made for holiday gift giving.  I clipped them on the top of these chipboard trees.  The trees have been hanging at my desk for over a year and I thought it was about time to use them. You could use any die cut you chose to attach your clips to!  It makes it easier to package if they are attached to something for sturdiness.

When I first saw the Petaloo flowers, I knew what I would be making first!  Yes, hair clips for those sweet granddaughters!  Girls never have enough hair accessories, right?  Right! Here are a few of my Petaloo packages.  You can see the rich colors, oh my!  My ribbon covered metal hair clips were bought at Michaels.  I then decided to try a Spellbinder Die cut, to create more of a base to secure my flowers and embellishments to.  This is how I started, laying out all the embellishment pieces. On the red hair clip I added sheer ribbon and a leaf to the mix.  All pieces are glued with Aleene's Tacky Glue.
Here is a peek at the back of the green clip.  The die cut did create the perfect base!  About the stamping on the chipboard, my sentiment comes from JustRite's Clear Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments Set. I stamped with SU Craft White Ink.  That is one of the nicest features regarding clear stamps, you can see exactly where you are stamping!  So much easier!

JustRite's Merry Christmas background stamp was perfect for an inset to my clear box package.  A neat feature of this stamp is the room allowance around the center design, making room to easily ink in two colors.  So, that is exactly what I did!  The Merry Christmas font of this stamp center coordinates with the Large Fancy Sentiment I used on the trees too!

Wanted you to get a peek at the back of the packaging!  I love clear boxes.  I get mine at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  They are shipped flat, so before I opened it, I trimmed it on my cutter to four inches.  Then proceeded to score my stamped trimmed background insert.  I punched two tiny holes through all layers, allowing the threading of the metallic silver string of the bow embellishment.  It also holds everything together nicely!  Finished!

A little more on the package bow, I will start with the bottom layer which is tulle, next is a red silk ribbon bow, green seam binding, then featuring all Petaloo products, velvet leaf, white hydrangea, small poinsettia, and topped off with a red flower.  There are two glass decorative pins glued in the upper left of the bow arrangement!   All pieces are glued atop one another using Aleene's Tacky glue.  Be sure to join JustRite Designers and Petaloo for a week long adventure!  Thanks for stopping by!
