From Cookie Cutters to Ornaments! From our House to Yours!

Welcome to the final day of JustRite Papercraft August Release!  I hope you have enjoyed viewing all the new sets and what the designers have created with them!  It's Christmas in July today!  For my project, I started with the above house cookie cutters.  Yes, indeed!  While visiting our local hardware store to purchase spray paint, I discovered a basket of clearance cookie cutters!  It clicked right then and there, get these and create ornaments with them!

And that is exactly what I did!  Are these not the cutest ever?  Hard to believe these were only 49 cents each!  I LOVE a bargain!  The tag sentiment is perfect, no?  It can be found in JustRite's new set, Christmas Antique Tags One.

Lots of holiday goodness found in Antique Christmas Tags One! It is a JustRite Clear stamp set featuring 22 stamps!  This set coordinates with JustRite's Antique Christmas Tags One Spellbinders dies!  Gotta love that!  I stamped my tag frame borders, then added my sentiment!  There are endless possibilities when you mix and match these stamps!  I then cut them out using JustRite's Coordinating Spellbinder's Antique Tags One die.  Also utilized, is Spellbinders Little Leaf Sets Dies for the holly leaves!

Let's talk about how I altered the cookie cutters.  The first thing I did was trace the outline of the cutters onto my designer paper.  Even though the shapes are the same, I still traced each one individually, because the size varies a little on each.  After trimming out the house, I inserted it into the cutter with tiny dots of Aleene's Tacky glue on each corner to hold in place.  Next, I picked the trim I wanted, added scor tape and adhered to the cutter.  I used one of my favorite trims of all time here on the edge!  I used my Cropadile to punch a hole in the top, threaded my seam binding through the hole, knotted the end so it the knot remains in the inside of the ornament.  We now have a loop to hang the ornament with. Finishing touches include adding the tags, snowflakes, adhesive pearls and gems, bows, and holly leaves!  Hope you are enjoying your day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
