It's a Hop! A Grand Opening! Inspiration & Blog Candy!

Welcome! We are celebrating the Grand Opening of The Stamp Simply Online Ribbon Store. There are 5 designers sharing projects today, a progressive Blog Candy offering (CHECK OUT ALL THE DETAILS ON SHARON'S BLOG) and a lot of quality SALE items for you to enjoy! Totally fun Blog Candy Offering! Spellbinders, JustRite and a large assortment of paper products are the featured sale items. Note that the storefront has a section entitled SPECIALS located on the right sidebar. You can click there anytime to see all price reduced items. If you're looking for bargains, it's a great place to start. But don't forget to check out the gorgeous new offerings by Prima, Webster's Pages, Melissa Frances, Bo Bunny, Cosmo Cricket, Kaisercraft, LaBlanche, and Pink Paislee to name a few, not to mention all the gorgeous May Arts ribbons. For my creation today, I used a Crafty Secrets Postcard Kit, Best Buds. The kit includes a Crafty Secrets Clear Stamp Set, Six Large printed images, Twelve Embellishments, Eighteen Chipboard Pieces. I chose to use the postcards to create mini albums. So three for each album. I used the large images for one side and added my own papers for the backs. In the above picture, I stamped a sentiment onto one of the smaller chipboard pieces. Here is the back to the front page above. I used Spellbinder Labels Four to cut dies, along with Classic Oval shapes. Here you can see some stamping utilizing the included stamp set. I used dimensionals on the sides and bottom to enable a picture to slide into opening. Another page with a large printed image. A simple bow with heart embellishment makes this complete! I used trim around the postcard edges once I had adhered my large images. The tag looks like I made it and attached to bow, it's printed and would make a darling name tag, or date if wanted. The back of page two is quite simple, a mat with a small printed embellishment. The small image is adhered to the small size chipboard pieces with edges sanded. Page three is another large printed image. A small image place on a punched oval edged with a crocheted piece of string. I also added a clear square fragment to the top of the small image. Back of page three shows another stamped image. On the page backs I also used a dauber and ink to lightly give some color to build the page on. Prima Fairytale Rose & Rose Leaf creates a great embellishment for this page. All Ribbons, Prima Flowers & Leaves, Ringlet Trim, String, Postcard Kit, are found at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store!

Here is a peek of the front page of album Two! Stop by tomorrow to see the remaining pages!

The Road to a Friend's House...

Good Friday to you! Here is a quick card to send to out of town friends. I love the Bazill house paper I found at Michaels. Perfect for this sentiment, no?
Here is the entire JustRite 2 1/4" x 3 1/16" Oval Song In My Heart Set! Lovely borders and sentiments to work with.
A close view of the paper to reveal the glossy finish on the paper image. I distressed the designer paper edging and mounted it on red cardstock. I stamped the border onto the red cardstock and white cardstock. I trimmed out the white center, and trimmed around the red border edge and inside oval. Cutting out one of the houses and placing on the bow ties it all together!
Hope you are having a fabulous Friday! I am so excited to tell you that The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store will be having a blog hop tomorrow to celebrate the new storefront! I've been working all week on my creation! Take good care, see you tomorrow!

Easter Blessings! Ferrero Rocher Chocolates! Crepe Paper! Oh My!

Good Wednesday Morning! How have you been? I hope as you are proceeding through Holy week you feel the strength and peace that only comes from the Holy ONE! Life is busy, I have been working but on things that have been such a whirlwind I have not been on the computer for over a week! I created a baby gift for one of my daughter's coworkers, our own daughter's birthday is today, working on tags for my other daughter's work related Easter thank-you favors, and phew, my husband retires exactly one month from today! Favors, table decor, some wall items all need to be completed! I keep thinking of that little train engine, you know the one, I think I can, I think I can! I know I can! Wish me luck, (I need plenty of it!) Today I did squeeze in an Easter gift I am taking to my sick friend who is battling cancer. They have now diagnosed congestive heart failure due to complications with drugs. Please pray. I want to talk about the crepe paper used for the flower and tails. Years ago, and I mean many, many years ago, I used to play with crepe paper! I made tissue flowers, bows, twisted and taped it, decorated and loved it all. But through the years I've been disappointed with the quality of the crepe paper streamers and papers out there. They lack body to twist, do not hold any form, and just frustrating to use. But hold on, the crepe paper from The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store I used on this project is super, just like I remembered. I used my new LaBlanche stamp! Have you tried LaBlanche stamps yet? I wanted to show you how cool they are! Here is how they are packaged, and I was so curious about all the white? It is a dense softer foam base that is so gentle to use! Can I say WONDERFUL! Here is the actual stamp on the underside. The details on these stamps are incredible. The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store is carrying them and I can't wait to get my hands on more! I used Memento Rich Cocoa ink and added touches of color with Copic Markers. I have to scoot! But I'll be back to talk about the crepe paper flower, tails and how I ruffled the edges on the crepe paper used on the chocolate container. Have a blessed day!

Hello from the Heart!

A Warm HELLO to you this Friday! For my project today I created another wooden heart shaped box for my granddaughter. The yellow and pink heart box received a new sentiment too! Most likely these will be used for tooth fairy boxes. The boxes were purchased at Michaels.

JustRite's A Warm Hello Borders & Centers Set features 9 Centers & Borders and fits 1-5/8” & 2" Stampers, the centers also fit 2" Square Stampers. The heartfelt sentiments are perfect for my heart shaped boxes, no?

I coordinated stamps from JustRite's Charmed Cling Set for the heart lids. Oh the possibilities! Not enough hours in a day! sigh ;)

And the Custom Spellbinders Charms Dies (now shipping) are to die for! (Pun intended!) For my hearts today I utilized the two largest heart dies in this set.

I used the papers, ribbon and gems from The Stamp Simply Delovely kit pictured above! There is enough goodness here to get some serious crafting accomplished! These colors just make me happy! They are delovely for sure!

The button is from JoAnn Fabrics, and fits nicely atop the die top tab. Papers are adhered to boxes with ScorTape, then edges sanded.

Another angle to peek at! Martha Stewart inks are used for stamping and shading around the heart's edging.

I added some gingham ribbon and button from my button stash. The yellow trim is added as well, I'm sorry it is so old, I cannot remember where this trim is from! Any small trim that coordinates with your papers could work. There you have it! Two heart shaped boxes for those precious granddaughters of mine! As you probably can tell I adore making items for them and always with heartfelt love!

Signs of Life Tea Bag Holders! JustRite!

Welcome! JustRite is featuring one of their Aprils release sets, Signs of Life today! I chose to create tea bag holders using one of the set's frames and sentiment. I made three holders and will show the steps further down in the post! Here is a peek at the backside of the holder. Each tab is held closed with a Velcro coins. I added a button embellishment to add stability when opening and closing the holder. I want to share with you how I used my shank buttons. I punched a hole in my die cut out using the Crop a Dile, then pushed the shank through the hole. This made it super simple to run the string and tie! I placed foam dimensionals to adhere die cut out, lifting it off the paper allowing space for the button shanks! JustRite's Signs of Life set is chocked full of frames, sentiments, and decorative elements galore! Look at that sign post! Signs of Life is a JustRite Cling Set featuring 17 stamps! That's right, 17 stamps! Think of all the possibilities! The designer papers today come from K&Company's Susan Winget's Spring Blossoms. I used a variety of ribbons that coordinate with this paper. It's all found HERE at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store! Lets talk about the pattern I used. I found this FREE pattern HERE. I love this author and site, so fun and creative. I printed the pattern out onto computer paper, cut one out and traced it on the designer paper. Then I cut the designer paper bags out. I lined the cut edges and scored using my Scor-It board. The scoring is applied on both sides as well as the top and bottom. Using paper that is double sided works well and creates more interest than just pattern and color on one side.
Here are four cut out tea bags that are scored. Starting at the left, I have applied scor tape to the inside left flap edge. I folded up the bottom flap, removed the tape liner and pressed to close. On the second tea bag I added tape to the flap edge as shown. Remove the tape liner, press the right side flap down to adhere together. Moving on to holder number three, shows the back side of the created tea bag holder. The fourth and final holder shows the top trimmed out to the side flaps top edges, this allows more of the inside coordinating paper to show when open. I love this paper, probably my favorite in the entire paper pad! Love the watercolor effect and colors! Each tea bag holder front embellishing varies, changing up the ink colors, ribbons, and die cut outs. Again, the backside shows the flap held with a Velcro dot, with an added button embellishment that creates stability for opening and closing the tea bag holder flap. The third and final tea bag holder! This is more of a spring look, soft yellows and greens. Playing with Spellbinder dies and mixing them up for varied looks helps give each holder its own look! The third and final tea bag holder backside! I love having these on hand to place with a mug, tuck in a card, or just give as a thinking of you gift. A wonderful hot cup of tea is one of Life's Simple Moments! One I certainly enjoy! Check out the Signs of Life inspiration these designers have today!

Hangers for JustRite's April Release Set, From My Kitchen

Functional wall decor for our granddaughter's bedroom! I found the most darling hangers & clothespins at Michaels a while back. I glued the clothespins onto the hangers after adhering designer paper to the clothespins face. This particular hanger uses Graphic45 Once Upon a Springtime paper on the pins. I think the bows & headbands will easily be seen and found now! Here is the entire set that JustRite is featuring today, From My Kitchen. I utilized two centers and borders on today's project. Not just for kitchen items, this set of 9 1 5/8" stamps and borders is both versatile and perfect for a variety of uses. A peek at the second hanger. On this one I attached two ribbon strips for clipping on smaller bows. The twill is sewn by machine down the center of the white crochet lace. I doubled the lace for extra stability. These hangers are for a special little girls hair accessories who is a princess too! The label and princess sentiment is from a set that will be featured on Thursday, Feathered Friends.

Here is the second hanger with the ribbon tails without headband & bows. The hangers themselves are just the way I purchase them. I fell in love with the colors and designs. The hangers could easily be hung in the closet if needed too if one did not want to hang on the walls.

And a photo of the hanger with headbands and bows. I made the headbands shown as well. One of my favorite things to make right now for those sweet girls!
They are 100% Sweet for sure! A closeup of the one sentiment and hanging ribbon tail. I used Stickles to add some glitz and glam. Fun, functional, and 100% Sweet! I hope you enjoyed today's project. Another Stampavie Image!

Here is a card using Stampavie Bobby and Me by Penny Johnson! I purchased this stamp at Joan's Gardens! I needed a little boy image for our grandson and this fit the bill nicely! Again it has been a long time coming getting it inky!
The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. I have been giving the X-Press It Blending Cardstock a try with my Copics. I like it! It has taken a bit to get used to, but the finish is smoother and I seem to get the blending with more ease. I got mine HERE at Ellen Hutson's store.
The designer paper is from October Afternoon's Fly a Kite found HERE at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store, cardstock is SU! All the embellishments are golden oldies from my stash! So there you have it! A card for our grandson! Now I have one more to make for our little Emma!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for making Explore. Dream. Discover. a stop on your blog visits today! I appreciate it! Take good care!

Teddy and Me!

Isn't this the cutest ever? I've had this Stampavie Teddy and Me stamp by Gillian Roberts since last summer! I know, it has taken way too long to get it inky! The card is simple hopefully giving full focus to the Copic colored image! I purchased this stamp at Joan's Gardens. When you visit her site, all her products are listed on the right sidebar.
The bottom card lower edge is trimmed using Spellbinders Labels Twenty #5 then dry embossed with a Cuttlebug Dots folder that I got from Joan's as well! The image is Copic colored. Here is a close up of the Teddy Bear! After laying my colors and some shading, I went back in and dotted over the entire bear to give a fur effect. In the areas of darker shading I used more dots, then as the color becomes lighter, I applied smaller amounts of dots.
A peek at her shoes that I covered with SU Crystal Effects! They look like patent leather, no? The white lace bow ribbon is found at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store! Miscellaneous button from my stash tied with that Twinkle string complete the bow!
I'm finishing up my room decor creation featuring JustRite release product! It all starts Monday! Stay tuned! Take good care and I hope you are having a fabulous Friday!
