Three is the Number!

Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge has us thinking in 3’s. Our creations should incorporate THREE somethings, such as panels (as in background panels) or THREE images (as in the focal point). Things always look pleasing to the eye when grouped in THREES! For my creation I chose to make THREE holiday tags!
As a starting point, I selected my Clearly Wordsworth Classic Christmas set by RubberSoul. What did I discover? A THREE holly leaf & berry stamp and a THREE hanging ornament stamp! PERFECT for today's challenge! Reaching outside my comfort zone, I decided to use distress inks, spritzed with water, and laying the white cardstock tag onto the ink, pressing somewhat to create a tag background and dried with a heat embossing gun. Joan from Joan's Gardens demonstrated this technique at her gathering in August. I admit I've a hard time starting out with this type of base to build a creation! I LOVE how it turned out, talk about simple, easy and fun! All distress inks and supplies are listed at the end of this post!
I think this is my favorite tag of the trio. At first look, I would not have picked this tag base as a favorite, but after stamping the THREE holly leaf & berry stamp THREE times, I knew this was a going to have a great feel. The "to" and "from" stamps a perfect size, and being individual stamps allows the ability to move them around on your creations. I moved "from" over more to the left of the tag on this one! Gotta love that!
For this particular tag, I only pressed the base into one color distressed ink. Using the ends of the holly stamp to create a top stamped edge created the perfect hanging point for the THREE hanging ornament stamp!
I stamped the THREE hanging ornament stamp THREE times for this tag. Each tag sports a snowflake with buttons and adhesive gems. This helps tie the colors together. Plus a simple embellishment adds that extra dimensional charm to the tags. Each snowflake has stickles for a little shine. So there you have it! THREE tags, using a THREE holly leaves & berries stamp, a THREE hanging ornament stamp, and two of the tags are stamped THREE times! I think I got the challenge down this week! How about you giving it a try? You can play along, as many times as you want, whenever you want! Just use keyword ssnotime159 if you upload to a public forum, and remember to upload over on Sharon's Mr Linky!
Thank YOU, Thank YOU, Thank YOU for stopping by! (I couldn't resist thanking in THREES!) I appreciate your visits and comments! It makes my day! Take good care!
