Tis the Season for Clean & Simple

For Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge today we're thinking simple! Tis the Season for Clean & Simple and that is definitely the way to go when we need to mass produce. So lets think Clean & Simple, while making our creations with a Christmas or winter theme in mind!
Today, I chose to stay with one pad of paper to draw inspiration from, that's simple, right? I love the non traditional holiday colors in Crate's Snowy Day Collection paper pad. The size is 6"x6" and pages are double sided! I love that! There are several pages with these adorable trees. I added the sentiment "O Christmas Tree" to the paper with my stamp from RubberSouls's Holiday Stylized Set.(pictured at left) It looks just like the sentiment was printed on the paper! So simple, and when I trimmed the paper, it left a strip with the sentiment on, so I punched it out to place with the ribbon treatment. Super simple ribbon treatment, running 1/2" scor tape along the back of my twill ribbon, and pressing down along the way as I went from side to side on the top paper layer. I tend to distress edges of paper when I want to cover the ends of ribbon or paper on the sides. For me, it's such a simple thing to do and lends a more finished look! Ribbon bow is looped twill, tied with twine and glued atop the pleated ribbon! Simple, easy! Stamp set, paper, ribbon & string are found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! The button is one from my stash!

So there you have it! A simple card with simple embellishing! I hope you are having a fabulous Friday and enjoy the rest of the designers clean and simple creations! Take good care! JustRite Friday Challenge with Inchie Arts!

For JustRite's Friday Challenge 042 today we are partnering with Inchie Arts! I have not worked with this quality of matte board! Well, it was so long ago when I was in college, we used to have to cut our own matte board, with our own mat cutters! Yuppers, I'm old! But nearly every commercial art class required your work to be framed! I LOVE I can purchase this quality matte board already cut 30+ years later! Inchie offers three different sizes of the highest quality artist grade matte board squares: 1” (Inchie), 1-1/2” (Inchie +) and 2” (Twinchie). All of their products are fade resistant, acid free, lignin free and solid core color through and through. The material is designed to receive whatever art medium (wet or dry) you use in your coloring and embellishments - from stamping to watercolors, chalks, inks, pens, markers, stains and more. For my card today, I stamped the darling snowman from JustRite's Whimsical Christmas Set onto a white Inchie+ and colored with Copic Markers: W1, W5, W7, BG10, BG13, BG72, Y15, YR26, YR65, YR68, E29, E33, RV14, RV19. Inchies are available in black, dark gray, light gray, wheat, dark cream, ivory and white; as individual packages or assortment packs. The snowman is adhered atop a Twinchie that has scor tape along the outer edges with Diamond Dust glitter to add that sparkling snow affect! Here is a peek of the card inside! I stamped a square border from JustRite's From Our House set, it fits perfectly! I thought I would try to use a Spellbinders die in my Big Shot to see if I could get a die cut frame, it did not cut all the way though but left this wonderful embossed impression! I love it! From Our House is a set chocked full of terrific winter and holiday designs! And will fit those Inchies perfectly! I finished the edges shading with ink and added a snowflake embellishment! There is Stickles applied ever so slightly to the snowflake, I wanted to carry the sparkle to the inside. As I had edged the cuttlebug embossed front card panel with it! Even the The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store sheer ribbon has a wonderful sparkle edging!
How could I place my square border onto my Twinchie, placing it where I wanted? With the use of a 2" clear stamper! Makes my stamping a whole lot easier and takes out the guesswork!
I hope you are having a Fabulous Friday! Every Friday JustRite sponsors a challenge! There are prizes to be won and other designers sharing their inspired creations! Make your way from the JustRite BLOG for all the details! Take Good Care!

How about a baby Christmas ornament today? I made this First Christmas Booties set for our new granddaughter born last Saturday, weighing in at 7lbs. She is a honey! The pattern is a Babies Booties Simplicity #2397 pattern. I'd been in my local fabric store a while back, and with all the babies arriving in our family, I thought I would try my hand at sewing some felt booties. After getting the pattern home, viewing it on my desk for a couple months, I kept thinking there are so many papers that would make terrific booties. So, today's booties set is my first attempt, and OH, how I love having a pattern at my fingertips! I will be looking at fabric sewing patterns in a whole new way! Paper is K&Company Madeline.

The trim used on these adorable booties is a pliable 1/4" Ringlet Ivory, found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Adhering 1/4" scor tape to the backside of the trim allowed me to attach the upper edge of trim to the booties top, and the lower trim edge to the booties bottom. As shown, I also attached the trim around the entire booties tie area. The sheer, silk ribbons, pink string, and Prima flowers are all from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store as well.
I used one of the snowflake images from JustRite's Whimsical Christmas Set for the tag. It is stamped with Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress ink. The first three layers also has this ink applied to the edges.
The upper wording of the tag is from JustRite's Holiday Demi Phrases Set. I love having the option of using ready made phrases and adding my own personalization on the tag lower tag border. It makes everything JustRite!

And for the lower border wording I utilized JustRite's Times New Roman 15pt. font. The phrase and words are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. And for the year stamped upon the snowflake, I used Times New Roman 50pt. font. Using a clear stamper enabled me to stamp over my snowflake image with perfect placement! After assembling my paper booties using scor tape, I lightly brushed the entire booties, inside and out with DecoArt DuraClear Varnish. Very light coats, as not to saturate the paper, this added more durability and a shine to the completed set. Stamp Simply Hard Rock Cafe Challenge

For Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge today we are thinking *hard rocks* and we do not mean music or a cafe! We are thinking metals and stones as added elements for our projects. It can be metallic pens, metallic papers, rhinestones. Use gold, silver, copper, rubies, emeralds, pearls, etc. type beauties as added embellishments! Have FUN!
How about metal trimmed tags turned into presents? Buttons and pearls add to the hard rocks! Talk about an easy peasy way to get different sized squares in a jiffy! I used my new Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather paper for the gift paper! I stamped a gift tag using the "to" from Classic Christmas set and added that to the largest gift. I just can't get enough of the holiday red ribbon! The ever slight glitter edging on the sheer ribbon is just pure goodness to my eyes! LOVE it! Ribbon & string is found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store along with the stamp set, Cosmo paper, adhesive pearls, and Spellbinders dies. Now it's your turn to add some hard rocks to your creation! If you upload your creation to a public forum, please use keyword161 and remember, upload to Sharon's Mr Linky over at her blog. I cannot thank you enough for stopping by today! I so appreciate your visits and comments. Take good care! Check the Hard Rock Cafe creations our designers have to share this week! Sharon Johnson, No Time To Stamp? JustRite & FlowerSoft Challenge!

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a Flower! How true! I am loving how this card looks! I left my Spellbinder circle dies on my border ring until I had lightly rubbed Tim Holtz old paper distress ink over the opening. Upon removal of the dies, it left this perfect shaded area connecting the leaves! Copic Markers used: V12, V15, V17, Y21, Y17, YR65, O65, E17, E33, E31, G09, G24, W1. FlowerSoft Lavender is what I glued onto the flowers. It adds so much dimension and helps frame the bird! Don't they look real?
Backyard Birds is the set that I used my image from. A beautiful image for every season! I think these would make a wonderful wall decor piece! Hmmm, I might have to think about that one!
I love the middle sentiment image from JustRite's Give Thanks set. It applies perfectly with the leafy border ring and that darling bird! I chose to use the sentiment alone, and punch with my SU oval punch. The gorgeous sheer ribbon and Graphic45 Past Christmas designer paper is from The Stamp Simply Store.
Have a great weekend everyone! I am on my way to watch our fabuolus grandson (I better hurry!)! His Mommy and I are giving our youngest daughter a baby shower next weekend and there is so much to do! And since it will be at my home, there is even more to do!!! I'll have to come back and insert links,
Take good care!

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #6! Each & every Wednesday until Thanksgiving designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! This week, it’s mostly the Copic design team and Certification instructors!Remember to mark your calendars- Wednesdays at 9am Central. And I chose to get this JustRite Christmas set, Vintage Ornaments inky! And am I glad I did! For my creation today, I used the three ornament image, stamping three times with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
Close up of the detail, Copic markers used: BG10, YR65, R27, Y17, Y21, W1. I utilized my black Copic Multiliner 0.3 to extend the ornament strings off the top edge of my image panel. And you can see the ever so slightly sparkle from Ranger Stickles placed on the ornament highlights and around the ornament images.
And another shot of the completed card! The fabulous ribbon is from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Using a needle and thread, I added the button and ribbon tails to the bow center. I see the tails got messed while moving the card to get my picture! Card size is 3 3/4" x 8" and will slide easily into a business envelope!

It's a Wonderful Time of the Year Stamp Simply HOP!

Welcome to The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store October BLOG HOP! It certainly is a wonderful time of year as we prepare for the holidays and winter season! Sharon has done it again, and put together a spectacular Yuletide kit, pictured above! Ribbons and embellies coordinate with the paper, all you need comes to you ready and set to create. Sharon has several kits available, along with ribbon packages too! A note to remember, all items in ANY kit can be purchased individually as well.
For my creation today, I went down Gingerbread lane! I picked up a couple of gift giving items to have on hand during the holiday season! Both these items are soap related, making each a cute hostess gift!
For stamping I used JustRite's Favorite Occasions Set, stamped my image with Memento Black ink and colored with Copic markers. The Christmas designer papers here are from Graphic45 Christmas Past Collection. This soap is from the dollar store, and I love the simplicity of the Jute string! Sharon carries a variety of string colors in her store!
How about a card to use separately or give with one or both gingerbread soaps? The plaid paper comes to us from Basic Grey's Jovial paper pad. The remainder designer paper is from Graphic45 Christmas Past Collection. I love how the row of gingerbread men turned out, with one being highlighted! Paper edges are distressed with a Making Memories Distress tool.
This is liquid hand wash, as the label put it! I purchased this item at Cracker Barrel. Here I included the stamped border to create a tag tied with some of my new holiday ribbons! Oh my, that sheer red with an ever so slight sparkle edging is fabulous! All ribbons and string are found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Designer paper, JustRite Favorite Occasion Set, and Memento Ink is also found at the store!
There is hidden BLOG CANDY along the way! Just leave a comment on each designer's blog and you will have the chance to win a $50.00 RIBBON gift certificate from THE STAMP SIMPLY RIBBON STORE!!! Good Luck!

It's a Stamp Simply Back to Nature Challenge!

We are getting Back to Nature for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge this week! Autumn is truly beautiful here in West Michigan, the changing of leaves from green to a rainbow of rich yellows, oranges and reds. The photo shown above was taken today as I looked out the window of my studio! Isn't it beautiful? In just a short while all these leaves will be gone and we know whats next, snow! Yuck! If I could, I would choose autumn all year long! So today let us be inspired by Mother Nature in our creations, let’s create something with a natural, earthy feel reflective of ANY season YOU enjoy, it’s the natural/earthy element we are going for here. Here is what I created! A card that will pair with a gift item I will share in a later post! What better set to celebrate autumn, than JustRite"s Autumn Blessings Set, found at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE. I colored my images with Copics and used a swirly folder to dry emboss the upper card front, it reminds me of swirling leaves! And they do swirl when the wind blows!
A closer view of the Prima Leaves Sharon has in her store! I LOVE these leaves, the intricate veins and colors are so cool! And there are 24 in the set! Gotta love that!!! The twill can also be found at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE. I ran a line of 1/4" scortape down the middle and pressed the twill down after bringing up a bit, then pressing down again, until I got across the card front width.
Another photo to share! What a perfect day! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you get a chance to create and play along with this weeks challenge. If you upload to a public forum please use keyword, ssnotime160 and also upload on Sharon's Mr Linky over on her blog! Take good care! Check out our talented designers' Back to Nature creations! JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #5

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #5! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! This week, it’s the Stamp Simply design team! Remember, start your Wednesdays at 9am Central, beginning at the JustRite Inspiration blog! I decided to create gift card holders out of Toilet Paper tubes! Yuppers, that's right! I was browsing blogs for gift card ideas and came across several of these! I pressed the empty tube flat, then proceeded with my bone folder to make the tube as flat as I could get it. It will not lay totally flat, it's kinda like a pillow box. One end is held together using scor tape. All designer paper is from Basic Greys Oliver 6" x 6" pad found at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE! This holder shows the tabbed insert with a tab created with my SU label punch. I used twill ribbon, also found at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE, stapled onto each tab for easy removal and easy insert of the gift card.
A pic of the gift card insert. I simply folded up the bottom of the paper to create a pocket for the card. The sides are held with scor tape. Easy, so simple, and what Fun! We all have toliet paper tubes! For my stamping I used JustRite's Christmas Nested Frames & Occasions that can be purchased at THE STAMP SIMPLY STORE. LOVE the frames, I colored the mine on today's holders with Copic markers.
The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is currently running a sale of 15% OFF on all Spellbinders products in stock until Monday, October 11. All Spellbinders products in stock can be seen on this page. Three is the Number!

Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge has us thinking in 3’s. Our creations should incorporate THREE somethings, such as panels (as in background panels) or THREE images (as in the focal point). Things always look pleasing to the eye when grouped in THREES! For my creation I chose to make THREE holiday tags!
As a starting point, I selected my Clearly Wordsworth Classic Christmas set by RubberSoul. What did I discover? A THREE holly leaf & berry stamp and a THREE hanging ornament stamp! PERFECT for today's challenge! Reaching outside my comfort zone, I decided to use distress inks, spritzed with water, and laying the white cardstock tag onto the ink, pressing somewhat to create a tag background and dried with a heat embossing gun. Joan from Joan's Gardens demonstrated this technique at her gathering in August. I admit I've a hard time starting out with this type of base to build a creation! I LOVE how it turned out, talk about simple, easy and fun! All distress inks and supplies are listed at the end of this post!
I think this is my favorite tag of the trio. At first look, I would not have picked this tag base as a favorite, but after stamping the THREE holly leaf & berry stamp THREE times, I knew this was a going to have a great feel. The "to" and "from" stamps a perfect size, and being individual stamps allows the ability to move them around on your creations. I moved "from" over more to the left of the tag on this one! Gotta love that!
For this particular tag, I only pressed the base into one color distressed ink. Using the ends of the holly stamp to create a top stamped edge created the perfect hanging point for the THREE hanging ornament stamp!
I stamped the THREE hanging ornament stamp THREE times for this tag. Each tag sports a snowflake with buttons and adhesive gems. This helps tie the colors together. Plus a simple embellishment adds that extra dimensional charm to the tags. Each snowflake has stickles for a little shine. So there you have it! THREE tags, using a THREE holly leaves & berries stamp, a THREE hanging ornament stamp, and two of the tags are stamped THREE times! I think I got the challenge down this week! How about you giving it a try? You can play along, as many times as you want, whenever you want! Just use keyword ssnotime159 if you upload to a public forum, and remember to upload over on Sharon's Mr Linky!
Thank YOU, Thank YOU, Thank YOU for stopping by! (I couldn't resist thanking in THREES!) I appreciate your visits and comments! It makes my day! Take good care!
