Valentine Candy Cane Suckers

WELCOME to the first 2012 Stamp Simply Ribbon Inspiration - Valentine LOVE!  These Valentine heart suckers are going to be used at a birthday party tonight as a favor!  A favor of thanks for coming to sweet Brielle's One Year Old Birthday Party!  I had seen this idea floating around Pinterest and hoped our holiday candy canes would not be eaten this year!  It seems every year I throw candy canes away!  Well, not this year! One could easily place a Happy Valentine Sentiment on the sucker but you can see I chose a sentiment of thanks!  

Valentine Sucker Ingredients

I melted white chocolate discs in my microwave using a glass dish.  (lower left corner of photo)  Two small candy canes and sucker sticks is all that is needed to get started!  Note the placement of the stick.  The stick and candy canes closest to the melted candy shows how the placement works best.  The chocolate and sticks were purchased at Michaels.

I placed about two full teaspoons of melted chocolate to create each sucker.  Once the amount you want is in place, take the back of the spoon to smooth out chocolate the best you can.  Don't worry about it being perfectly smooth!  Why?  Because you can add crushed candy canes, cookie sprinkles, drizzled dark chocolate over the white chocolate.

You want to add your topping before the white chocolate has set.  Sprinkle on desired topping and press ever so lightly.  Here are the ones that I used the crushed candy canes.

27 cello Wrapped Candy Cane Heart Favors with Tags

Here is a photo of all 27 favors!  I stamped the tag border and the sentiment thanks before hand writing Brielle's name.  The stamp set is Rubber Soul Wordsworth Everyday Greetings.  The border ink is Memento Angel Pink and the sentiment is Memento Rich Cocoa.  I used a variety of The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store ribbons, sheer, wrinkled, tinsel edged sheer along with Prima fairytale roses.
