Ribbon Flower Goodness!

I've been having the most fun playing with all the gorgeous ribbons from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! Here are a few of the floral embellishments I made. Crochet lace, gingham, silk, velvet, and polka dot sheer are the types I used for these flowers. The pink gingham flower is created by folding the 1 1/2" gingham ribbon in half, running the stitch along the two edges and pulling to gather. I then added a crocheted flower and button on top. The green 3/4" velvet ribbon is not folded, with a gathering stitch along one edge and pulled. A crochet flower and button also are sewn atop the flower. This rose beauty is the same ribbon I used for the smallest gingham flower, only I did not fold the 1 1/2" ribbon, I ran a gathering stitch along one edge to gather, sewing the base as I went along to get the rose look. A 1/2" gingham ribbon piece is sewn in the rose center.
Here is a three tier silk ribbon flower, meaning, I made three separate flowers and then sewed them together. The bottom layer is the 1 1/4" ribbon, gathered along one edge, pulled and sewn together. The middle flower is the same ribbon, with the edge folded over, stitched, and gathered to make the flower slightly smaller. The top flower is made again, with the same satin ribbon, only folded in half, gathered, with a sheer 1/2" ribbon flower and bottom sewn atop!

I was very pleased with these pom pom flowers. I didn't set out to have them look like this, but I LOVE them. Again 1 1/2" sheer ribbon folded in half, stitched along the edges to gather, I used more ribbon to continue the build up of gathers, and the slight stiffness of the ribbon creates the kind of folds you see.

So there you have it! My play time results with a few of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store ribbons. There are so many more ribbons I can't wait to get my hands on! HERE is the spot you can view all the gorgeous ribbon goodness. Be sure to scroll down the page to view them all!

TAKE GOOD CARE! I hope you are having a marvelous Monday! See you tomorrow!
