Christmas in July!

Creating holiday cards this time of year in many ways is more fun than any other time of year! The weather outside is sweltering! The holiday deadline is months away! No pressure! Are you with me on this? Lol Let's talk about the card! My image is heat embossed, with color added utilizing chalks! I used a q-tip to apply color, and an eraser to remove color, enabling me to add highlighting where needed. Easy! All Spellbinder dies and embellishments are listed below. My image comes to us from JustRite's Christmas Treasures Borders and Centers stamp set. Wonderful card possibilities with this set! Check out JustRite's new designers gallery, filled with inspiration after inspiration! Locate the Christmas Treasures label and click for additional ideas using this set! All sets are listed for your convenience! A side note: My hubby's birthday is six months to the day away from Christmas, and he reminds me of that fact every year! And on his birthday, he reminds me Christmas Day is only six months away! LOL, yes he has an odd sense of humor! Hmmm, maybe that is why I feel the need to get going on those holiday cards!!! Take good care and have a terrific Tuesday!!!

Star Light, Star Bright!

It's Friday and time for our Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge this week! We are focusing on stars in our projects. They may be patriotic stars; A+ Great Job! stars; twinkle, twinkle little stars, ANY kind of stars you like. And, they may be created any way you like, punched or die cut stars, stickers, star paper, I think you get the idea!

I chose to recycle a gift bag I received some time ago! I thought the checked bag with attached ribbon could use a few stars! I utilized all size dies to create the various stars and star frames. I then swiped my white ink pad over all the stars for a bit of texture! The ribbon tail stars are attached with a glue dot, easy as pie! The sentiment on the center star comes to us from Rubber Soul/Wordsworth's Everyday Greetings found in The Stamp Simply Store! The star tag is attached with gorgeous 1/8" red silk ribbon! This candy filled bag will travel with us Saturday to our friends Fourth of July barbecue!

We hope you can play along this week! Please use keyword ssnotime146 when uploading your creations to a public forum, remember to upload over on Sharon's Mr Linky too! And please let us know if you upload to your blog! You may play anytime, as many times as you want! The most important rule to play, HAVE FUN! Check out the Stamp Simply talented designer's Star creations!

Joy Ride Luggage Card!

A quick card today for a young lady from church! She's at church camp this week and I told her I would send her some snail mail! Our church provides scholarships to all our kids who want to attend summer church camps! This particular young lady is one I started mentoring in our public school when she was in first grade. She is now in middle school!
Can't get much easier than using chipboard adhesive stickers from Cosmo Cricket! Love the coordination of all their products! I cut the camp name from the brochure and added a luggage tag. She'll get a kick out of that! I punched (with Crop a Dile) around the luggage handle to add the mini lanyard hooked tag! The hook is the kind used in jewelry making and was purchased at Hobby Lobby.
************************************************************************
There you have it! A simple but fun card that I hope will bring smiles to a very special young lady! Take good care! I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous summer weather!

A Shabby Tea Room Happy Birthday!

A 4" x 4" Happy Birthday card for this weeks Shabby Tea Room #16, challenge! HERE are all the Popsicles & Pinwheels challenge details! For my card, I chose to use Cosmo Cricket Delovey papers, the colors captured the challenge colors perfectly!
The Happy Birthday sentiment can be found in JustRite's, Barouque Nested Frames. The beauty of these newer nested sets is you can pull out the sentiment, use the sentiment with one or both frames, or use the frames alone! I know, I've said it before, the JustRite possibilities are endless! Closeup of the stitching detail down the middle of the twill. I used a larger stitch and pulled at each end to gather. Been wanting to try this, and the twill is perfect in weight and sturdy to hold it's shape. The little pearls stickers that outline the circle are a dollar store find. They are all connected, so it made placement a snap! And another angle of the card! I just smile looking at these beautiful colors! A side note about the sentiment banner, I found THIS IDEA intriguing, and wondered how some designers created what appears like another size die cut. I kept looking at my dies, wondering if I was using them properly! LOL So, that is how I got the perfect cut frame for my Happy Birthday banner!

Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday! A little shopping today is my plan! Haven't been doing much of that this year since the broken ankle! We'll see how it goes! Take good care, thanks so much for stopping by!

Simply Dressed in White Blog HOP!

STAMP SIMPLY DRESSED IN WHITE (and Ivory) BLOG HOP! Today several of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store designers are creating white on white creations with white ribbon (or ivory) especially! Sharon has put together RIBBON KITS of Everyday Whites, Fancy Whites, Bridal Whites and two Ivory Sets, available in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! And to top that off, The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is running a SPOOL RIBBON sale, 15% OFF any SPOOL (not cut yardage) of White or Ivory Ribbon. Sale begins today running until 8 a.m. EST Wednesday, June 30.
How about a clear acetate card today? My stamped image comes to us from the Clearly Wordsworth Stamp Set, I'm So Glad found in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. It contains one heart image, I stamped it twice to get the image you see on my card! So easy to do, since the stamps are clear you can see the exact placement! A closer look at the detail, I dry embossed my image, then cut out using Spellbinders dies. I cut two of each die shape, so I could attach one to the front side and one on the backsides, to hide all adhesives! The 1 1/4" gorgeous silk ribbon is double looped adding a bit more fullness. I cut the acetate out within the frame creating a window using my craft knife. And a peek of the card inside, this view reveals the backside of the frame, and the inside image. The swirl gems are stickers! So, really a very simple clearly white on white card! I know there is glare on the photos! What was I thinking, clear acetate along with rhinestones! Extremely hard to photograph! Take good care and have a blessed weekend everyone!

Happy Birthday

Today I have a Birthday card using new JustRite product! LOVE the larger sentiment as the focal point, and you can't go wrong with the October Afternoon The Thrift Shop paper! JustRite Victorian Nested Frames contains 3 Large Borders, 3 Small Borders and 3 Sentiments. On my card I used the bottom larger frame and cut out using my craft knife.
JustRite All Occasion Nested Sentiments & Verse is the set I used for my Happy Birthday sentiment. It is stamped with StazOn black ink! This nested horizontal centers set contains 2 Large Phrases, 4 Medium Phrases and 3 Small Phrases.
JustRite's Clear Horizontal Stamper is a wonderful addition in the JR lineup! The clear stampers have see through grids for exact image placement. Sizes included: 1-3/8" x 2-1/2” and 2-3/8" x 4”. For my card I utilized the larger clear stamper.
A peek of the machine sewing detail. I followed the paper's line and LOVE how it adds just a bit more texture!
And another pic of the card! LOVE the colors, layout, and focal point! It's a card I can easily create and switch out the focal point to another sentiment or image. Hope you are having a great week! We are busy this week with vacation bible school! I'm teaching the bible story each night! So I best go and get tonight's lesson finished! Take good care!
