A Stamp Simply Sketch Challenge #144

Our Stamp Simply Challenge this week is a sketch challenge, courtesy of Sharon! You can go clean and simple or fancy the sketch up! Totally up to you! Just have FUN! For my card today, I chose a page from my Crafty Secrets Homemade Images and Journal Notes pad. Actually the focal image is the bottom piece of a page. I did add color with my chalks! The cardstock is SU and the patterned paper is October Afternoon's Road Map. A few buttons with jute string, punched strip of paper and we are good to go! I went clean and simple! This is one of my hubby's birthday cards! We hope you can join us this week! Please use keyword ssnotime144 when uploading to a public forum. And don't forget to upload on Sharon's Mr Linky! Let us know when you post to your blog, we want to see your fabulous creation! You may play any time, as many times as you please! Easy and fun! Thanks for checking in! I love it when you visit!

Just For You, JustRite!

I have a card to share that uses two of JustRite's newest sets! They are revealed in JustRite's new catalog along with all new (and current) fantastic products! If you haven't already, be sure and check out all the new product goodness coming our way! And YOU can purchase your very own catalog too, all the details HERE! Now onto my card details, I stamped my sentiment from this new set, JustRite's All Occasion Nested Sentiments and Verse. The number of sentiments that can be used alone or combined with each other makes the use unlimited! I LOVE that!
I chose the top larger frame from JustRite's Barouque Nested Frames for my card, stamping with Versafine, Vintage Sepia ink on Papertreyink kraft cardstock. The sentiment utilizes the same ink, stamped on Papertreyink's vintage cream cardstock, brown cardstock is also PTI. Designer paper is October Afternoon's The Thrift Shop.
Here is my block set up! I do trim my rubber to eliminate all the inked edges that sometimes occur. I am a messy stamper so I need all the help I can get! I know you noticed the new JustRite clear stamper! JustRite has just introduced this honey of a product too!
Martha Stewart border punch for the card front bottom edge, adhesive pearl embellishments, and gorgeous silk ribbon add punch to the overall card! I used Tim Holtz Distress Old Paper ink with my dauber around paper edges. Miscellaneous button sewn with a good ole' needle and thread holds the ribbon embellishment together. To cut my stamped border, I used my kraft blade, Spellbinders Mega Oval LG Nestabilities # 1 and #2 dies cut my ovals.

Paper Globes

I found these wonderful Paper Topiary Globes HERE. What a great blog discovery! I fell in love with this paper globe idea and tucked it away for "someday"!!! Well, someday has arrived! I'm not making the paper globes into topiarys, just leaving them, well, as paper globes! I told you some time back, our daughter recently married and now we are having a celebration in July! The color theme is pink and brown, so you will be seeing lots of pink and brown items now and again as we create! But for now I present, my version of Heather Bailey's paper globes.
I used papers from my stash, both cardstock and patterned paper. Most patterned paper is from October Afternoon's Ducks in a Row, Graphic45 On the Boardwalk, pinkpaislee Queen Bee & Bayberry Cottage. You can see and purchase these paper pads HERE. There are a few pieces of some K & Co. (thinner DP pieces), sorry I don't know the name of those papers. Cardstock is mainly SU. Just using thin DP does not work well, too flimsy. But a combination of both a thin DP and cardstock create a pretty sturdy globe.
Here I pictured the 1 3/4" circle EK Success punch that was used to create the smaller globe. (above is pictured with the scallop punch used) I stuck with punches I already had, we are on a budget!!! And table decor is one of those things that mostly get thrown away. I think we will will encourage kids (there will be lots of children at the party) to take these home and use as a ball, until of course they are destroyed and can be disposed of.
A photo of the small and large globes for comparison. They will be set in groupings along the length of rectangle tables atop tulle, with balloons stemming upward! Yes, they are time consuming, but once I created a couple, I developed my own little system and it goes pretty fast! And again, we will use what paper is in the studio!!! Really, I'm not cheap, I'm being fiscally and environmentally responsible!

Thanks so much for stopping by! You know, it makes my day when you visit here! THANK YOU! I HAD the best time at the COPIC Certification class this past Saturday! Meeting Debbie Olsen was beyond expectations. What a terrific, sincere, and beautiful woman, inside and out. Of course, I forgot my camera in the flurry of it all! I do have her autograph on my certificate though!!! Learning about the Copic products was beneficial to me, as I had purchased a few markers at my local Hobby Lobby before, and colored with them, (as you have seen on my blog) but never really knew HOW to utilize them to the extent they should be used. AND all the spectacular Debbie Olsen tips, and demos of her Copic usage is invaluable to say the least! Thanks so much Debbie! So, I will be sharing as I continue to use my Copic markers and pass along what I have learned right here at Explore.Dream.Discover.

Give it a Chance! Stamp Simply #143

*******************************************************
You still have time for your chance to win this blog hop candy! It ends Friday, June 11 at 6pm eastern standard time.
*******************************************************
For Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge this week, we are digging into our drawers, boxes or bags of those rejected or unfinished pieces. Pull out a piece you started at some other time and for whatever reason you just never finished it and it ended up in that "ahem" collection! We look forward to seeing what you rescue! I chose to rescue papers that get thrown into this drawer! Please tell me I'm not the only one with a drawer like this!!! LOL

There is no stamping on this card, all patterned paper is from Graphic45, On the Boardwalk. Cardstock is Papertreyink. I even cut out the patterned paper's little page title to adhere to the GinaK buttons! The beach focal point piece is cut from one of the pages in the paper pad. Kaiser adhesive pearls, along with brown jute string add to the card's embellishments. I should go digging in that drawer more often! I really like the card! Thanks so much for stopping by! I LOVE it when you do! Tomorrow is the day I go to the Copic class! Taught by the one and only Debbie Olsen! I will share details on Sunday!

Please use keyword ssnotime143 if you upload to Splitcoaststampers, your blog, or any public forum. Be sure to upload to Mr Linky on Sharon's blog too! You may play as many times as you want, whenever you want! Just remember, have FUN! Check the super talented Stamp Simply Challenge Designers to see what they have been up to this week!

Sweet Stuff! Stamp Simply #142

For today's Stamp Simply challenge, it is all about the SWEET STUFF and comes to us from fellow team member, Jenny Gropp. Jenny wants us to create a card or project featuring something SWEET.... a cake, cupcake or candy! It can be using a sweet embellishment, stamps, paper, just anything that's sweet!!! I had this wonderful little Halloween candy pillow box that fit the bill! I love this adorable pillow box from GinaK Designs! The stamps are JustRite, and various punches are used for the cardstock circles. Ribbon is from Michaels, decorative straight pin is from Singer.
Remember to use keyword, ssnotime142 if you upload to a public forum and upload at Sharon's Mr Linky! We would love to see what sweet creations you are making!!! ************************************************************** On a personal note: Missing in action again! But for good reason, unfortunately we had to put our dog down last Thursday. It was one of the hardest decisions to make, we miss him so. Then a couple days later, my hubby went into the hospital. He is doing much, much better. Prayers are welcome as we work at getting life back to somewhat normal! Take good care! I so appreciate when you stop by! ************************************************************** Check the super talented Stamp Simply Challenge Designers to see what they have been up to this week!
