Candy Strawberries!

EDITED TO ADD:  The plastic stems were bought at my local cake decorating store.  I think calling around to your local craft/cake decorating stores to locate them in your area is your best bet!  Enjoy and thanks so much for your comments and inquiries!

Candy Strawberries-Bloomers Heart Box
The next best strawberries compared to the real thing!  Fresh strawberries are yummy, but here in lower West Michigan, our crop does not arrive until June, if we're lucky!  So, these candy strawberries are fun, sweet, and a great reminder that summer will be here before we know it! I'm packaging these candies in a variety of ways.  Today, I am showing you how they fit into that repurposed bloomers heart box that I created for the Stamp Simply Red Hot Ribbon Inspiration, HERE.

Candy Strawberries in Box
I cut a piece of parchment paper with pinking shears to line the inside of the bottom heart box. The box bottom comfortably holds seven strawberries.  And since they are so sweet, seven is plenty to gift at a time!

Candy Strawberries-Up Close
Close up view of the wonderful treats!  Personally, I love to use a plastic leaf stem to finish the strawberry.  The almonds are doable and look nice, but the plastic stems are easy, reusable, and look more realistic.  There are pecan chips in the recipe, creating the darker areas on the strawberries!

Candy Strawberries Ingredients
Here are the ingredients used. The recipe is at the end of this post. I hope you like the idea of this tasty sweet treat! Perfect for Valentine's Day. Really, perfect for any day in my world!  I first tasted these strawberries at a Christmas Holiday party and try to only make them once a year!  Because guess who eats most of them?  Yep, that would be me!  Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday, I will get the next beach canvas posted tomorrow!  Take good care!

Strawberry Candy  Recipe from Cooks.com

  • 2 small pkgs strawberry gelatin
  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • Red sugar crystals
  • Almond Slivers
  • Green food coloring

Combine gelatin, milk, coconut, and nuts in bowl; refrigerate overnight. (I only refrigerated for two hours) Shape into shape of strawberry and roll in red sugar crystals.  Roll almond slivers in green food coloring, stick in ends for stems.  I used plastic stems bought at my local cake decorating store!

RicRac Heart Onsies

Ric Rac Heart 18 Month Onsie
Remember those ric rac roses I posted last week, HERE? I finally completed the embellishment of the onsies, I purchased to go along with those hair clips.  Here is the 18 month size.  Love the gathering at the neckline and the turned down collar provides the perfect edging to add more ric rac!

Valentine Ric Rac Heart Onsies
This pic is not great in color, but I wanted you to see the sleeve edge. Yes, more ric rac! The bottom onsie is 12 month size, so a smaller heart.  The 1/2"ric rac and 5/8" scalloped satin ribbon are found at The Stamp Simply Store! There are wonderful ric rac colors and sizes to pick from. Oh my, the possibilities are endless! The buttons are from my button jar stash! I think there will be two mighty cute little girls on Valentine's Day! Love making memories for my girls!

Heart Shape Die Pattern
Just a look at the simple way I achieved my heart shape. I lightly drew around a Spellbinders Heart Die cut. This set of dies are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and are on sale! I like to think I am a frugal person, not a cheap person. These onsies were a steal at 2.99 apiece, originally 14.00 each! Add ribbon and ric rac and look what we have! Add that rose hair clip and these girls will Valentine Day cuties for sure! Grandma is not partial in any way!

Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style-Red Hot Ribbon!

Repurposed Heart Candy Box
Hard to believe this heart is a repurposed candy box!  Yes, really it is!  Isn't it beautiful? This was another idea I saw over on Pinterest! Using bloomers of any color would work, but today is our Stamp Simply red hot ribbon inspiration! The gorgeous Red Velvet Ribbon adds that perfect touch too! It is 3/8" and comes in 12 rich colors!  The awesome green leaves are called mulberry rose leaves and are available at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store HERE

Heart Candy Box-Before Embellishment
This is what I started with!  I spread a layer of Aleene's Tacky Glue (bought at Michaels) on the entire lid. Starting at the heart bottom point, I attached the bloomers row by row, until the lid was fully covered!  The sentiment is from JustRite's Winter Words Clear Stamp Set. I just went to The Stamp Simply Store to link the set and saw it's on sale! Great shopping news!  Happy Valentine's Day is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink found HERE.

At the Beach, to find a Seashell...

Canvas #1, At the Beach Wall Decor
I'm still plugging along with decor for our downstairs bedroom!  I showed you this chalkboard table, and supply wall bucket holders HERE.  Now, I am on to some wall decor.  I covered four 4"x4" canvas squares (purchased at Michaels) with Webster Pages Spring Market, Yacht Club, Country Estate designer paper. This canvas is the first, with the other three coming soon.  I plan on revealing one at a time!

JustRite At the Beach Cling Set
I chose a bit of a nautical theme for this room, trying to make it grandchildren comfortable, but still guest appropriate. Lucky for me Justrite's new sets fit perfectly for what I am trying to achieve with the decor.  One of the sentiments and seashell images are the stamps I used for canvas #1. At the Beach is available at the JustRite Store, and will be fully revealed in February!  So, this is a special sneak peek, just for you!

Four 4" x 4" Canvases
Here are the four covered canvases.  I don't know if I will hang them in a square as shown, or in a horizontal row.  LOVE the paper, just perfect, no?  Paper and adhesive pearls are available at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store. I attached papers with ModPodge (purchased at Michaels), with another coat over the top.  Cheesecloth from the dollar store, scrap twine, and real seashells round out the canvases embellishments.  All embellishments are attached using Aleene's Tacky glue (purchased at Michaels)

Playing with JustRite's At the Beach has me yearning for warmer weather, summer fruits, and the opportunity to open all the windows!  Are you with me?  With that thought, I've made a special strawberry treat that will have to tide me over for the time being!  Can't wait to share with you!  Take good care and hope you are having a terrific Thursday so far!

Another Fuzzy Slipper Cupcake!

Unwrapped Fuzzy Slipper Cupcake #2
I need two fuzzy slipper cupcakes for Valentine's Day, because I have two daughters! So here is Fuzzy Slipper Cupcake #2.  The first one is HERE. Same story, only I used PapertreyInk papers.  The circle punched cherry is just sitting in between the folds, easy to take off!  Tape is not a good thing with this kind of material!

Wrapped Fuzzy Slipper cupcake #2
Here is Fuzzy Slipper Cupcake #2 all wrapped and tagged! I used the same stamp set, JustRite's Clear Set, Winter Words. The hearts are cut with JustRite's Custom Spellbinders Dies, Charm.  Ribbon and string is from The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!  Take good care and I'll be back tomorrow with little decor project!  Think sea shells!  See you then!

Ric Rac Rose Packaging!

Ric Rac Rose Hairclips
Remember these Ric Rac Rose Hairclips from yesterday?  Today, I have them packaged, ready for gift giving!  Before we get to that, I wanted to say, I hope you are having a Terrific Tuesday! Every Tuesday my husband and I go to our church and volunteer at our after school program. We open the doors, help with homework, play games, listen, and serve all a hot meal!  Knowing these kids are safe, warm, and fed each Tuesday makes it terrific indeed!

Packaged Ric Rac Rose Hairclips
Lets get to the packages!  Glassine bags, wrapped with ribbon and embellished with a chipboard lettered heart!  I covered each letter with Lost & Found Blush Paper from My Minds Eye.  The initials of the first letters of the honey pie's names who will get these roses! Designer paper, adhesive pearls, all ribbon, and string are found at The Stamp Simply Store!

SU Slot Punch
I attached each hair clip to a Spellbinders Labels Eighteen Die cut piece of white card stock.  I slightly pinched the middle of die cut and used my SU slot punch as shown to create an opening to slide the metal hair clip into.

Backside of slot punched die cut
Backside view of the hair clip attached to die cut.  The die cut easily slides into glassine bag.  I folded top over, used the SU slot punch again to create a hole for the ribbon to life through!

Thanks so much for all your kind comments about the ric rac roses!  I really love creating with a needle and thread!  And hope to do more of that!  Take good care and make it a Terrific Tuesday!

Ric Rac Rose Hair Clips!

RIC RAC ROSE Supplies
Here is what I started with!  Ric Rac and Suede Leaves from The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store along with a metal hair clip, needle & thread, and Aleene's Tacky glue.  I first saw this idea over on Pinterest! I followed the blog instructions HERE, and was pleased with the result for my first try.

Complete Single Ric Rac Rose
I feel my roses turned out just as shown in the instruction blog I referred to above.  I added the suede leaves by gluing them to the metal clip before gluing on the rose itself!  These roses took much less time than I anticipated!  I certainly will be making more of these in different colors.
Completed Ric Rac Roses
Two clips, one for each granddaughter!  I will be gifting these clips along with onsies that I'm embellishing with ric rac hearts for Valentine's Day!  Such fun I am having! When they are complete I will share!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
A reminder to let you know The Stamp Simply Store Blog candy is still available. Details are HERE. The deadline to leave a comment is 6pm tomorrow!  Good Luck and take good care!

Stamp Simply Inspiration - Sheer Ribbon!

Before we begin today, please join us in wishing Happy Birthday to fellow team member, Deb Saaranen! Today is her special day, so be sure to leave her birthday wishes when you visit her blog!  Happy Birthday, Deb!

Melissa Frances Crepe Paper Birthday ONE
You've been so patient with me as I have been showing you all the goodies I made for our granddaughter's first birthday! The Candy Cane White Chocolate suckers HERE, the Princess  Thank You notes HERE, and Brielle Wooden name letters HERE!  Well, this is the final creation from the birthday celebration and it fits perfectly into today's Stamp Simply Ribbon Inspiration, Sheer Ribbon!

Sheer Ribbon Birthday Blessings Tag
A Prima Fairytale rose, satin string cutout leaves ribbon compliment this gorgeous sheer ribbon bow.  The 1"pink sheer ribbon is tinsel edged and adds that extra sparkle!  The Birthday Sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The Spellbinder Label Ten Dies are HERE.  Bow and Tag are attached to the ONE using Aleene's Tacky Glue.

Brielle's First Birthday Picture
This is the picture that was on Brielle's birthday party invitation!  I used SU punches to cut out before attaching with Aleene's glue!  Another Fairytale rose and satin leaves sets it perfectly!

Number ONE Base
This is how it all started after seeing a similar number five over on Pinterest!  I cut my cardboard ONE from a repurposed box after drawing it out using my t-square!  The curves were traced from the t-square end to make drawing easy!

Melissa Francis Crepe Paper Blossoms
Using Spellbinder Blossoms Three largest die, I cut my flowers out of Melissa Frances Crepe paper.  I LOVE this crepe paper, it's sturdy, just the type I remember using years ago!  Not flimsy and holds it shape!  Wonderful material! The die easily cut through a four layer thickness as shown above.  Once cut, I separated and folded, preparing the blossom to be attached to the ONE base!

Adhering Crepe Paper Blossoms
The individual blossoms were attached using hot glue.  I store my hot glue sticks in a repurposed crystal light container and use a foil covered plate to set the gun on while gluing.  I started adhering the blossoms along the cardboard edge, worked my way around the edges and then filled in from there!

There you have it!  The Number ONE made from cardboard, crepe paper, embellished with gorgeous tinsel edged sheer ribbon, roses, sentiment, and photo!  Makes for a wonderful birthday decor piece!  I hope you enjoyed this birthday creation as much as I enjoyed making it! Thanks for stopping by!

Love U...Fuzzy Slipper Valentine Cupcake, JustRite!

Unwrapped Fuzzy Slipper Cupcake
I saw this idea during the holidays and ran out of time to get it done! In reality, I like the idea better for Valentine's Day or as a Get Well thinking of you gift! There are many cupcake wrapper patterns out there, just google and you will have several options!  I chose a straight edge pattern and added scallops to the top edges the old fashioned way, using two different sized corner rounder punches!  HERE is where I learned about this technique! The cherry is a punched red card stock circle.

Wrapped Fuzzy Slipper Cupcake
Simply wrapped in a cello bag and tied with silk ribbon from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store creating such a cute presentation! The designer paper is from my scrap box.  In addition, I used PapertreyInk purple, red, and white card stock for the tag and wrapper edge.

Fuzzy Slipper Cupcake Tag
The stamped image and sentiment is found in JustRite's Clear set, Winter Words.  The wording reminds me of conversation valentine candy hearts, no? Winter Words features a whopping 27 stamps!  Lots of options and perfect for Valentine's Day creations! I used Memento Sweet Plum ink along with Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the sentiment.   Want2Scrap adhesive pearls along with Martha Stewart glitter finish off the tag details.  The heart shapes are die cut using JustRite Custom Spellbinder CHARMS Dies.  Love it when it all coordinates, makes life so easy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  No calorie cupcakes are good!  Tomorrow I will have a super cute birthday decor piece I made for our granddaughter's first birthday!  Think the number "1", that is your number "1"hint!  See you then!

Thank You for your Service!

Thank You, You are the Best!
How about a thank you card today? Here is my take for a serviceman or woman Thank You card. I love the red, white, blue! How easy this was to make with the ticking stripe background stamp! Love different ways to use those stamps!

Tag Stamps from JustRite Clear Spring Words Set

Close up of tag that I stamped twice, once with Memento Lady Bug red, and once with Paris Dusk.  Using my SU round punches gave me the top three layers of tag.  The red base is die cut using JustRite's Custom Spellbinders Die Charms Set.  The small star die is also used for the white stars on card.

Ticking Stripe Background
Justrite's background stamps are large!  They give you plenty of stamped image to play around with your backgrounds.  I cut my flag stamped image down to 4" x 5 1/4"and stitched the edging before adhering it to my standard card base.

Clear Spring Words
This is a sneak peek at the new clear Spring Words set!  It is now available in the JustRite Stampers Store HERE.  When we have the official unveiling of this set, you will love all the inspiration!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope it has been a terrific Thursday for you so far!  See you tomorrow with a no calorie cupcake!  Yes, it's true!

See you then!

Acorn Kisses!

Acorn Kisses and Jar Lid
Here is a past project that I didn't get up on my blog.  It was at the time when our computer crashed and burned and we spent quite of bit of time getting another computer set up, going to classes, etc.  Recently, I was looking at these pictures and thought Acorn Kisses could easily be made for Valentine's Day!

Acorn Kisses
This idea was seen on Pinterest!  There is a plethora of ideas over there!  Once you start pinning, you will not be able to stop!  I made mine with Mini Vanilla Wafers, Peanut Butter, and Peanut Butter Chips.  I know many are allergic to peanut butter! So, how about using a frosting to hold ingredients together and butterscotch chips? Perfect solution!

Acorn Kisses Jar Packaging
The entire packaging!  For stamping I used JustRite Stampers Autumn Words Set.  It is a clear set, featuring 40 stamps. The words are stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, while the leaves and acorn are stamped with Memento Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, Potter's Clay, and Rich Cocoa.  This is a clear stamp set, so very easy to ink stamps, starting with the  lightest color first, proceeding to the darkest color!  Rich Cocoa Ink, String, and Adhesive Rhinestone are found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!   It feels good getting caught up after the holiday!  Just a few more pieces of holiday decor to put away!  I know, I'm slow!  Thank you for stopping by today!  I appreciate every visit!

  • My blog starting having weird problems last Friday.  If you tried to leave a comment, I know the pages went blank.  Thank you for those who emailed me to let me know!  I hope we have a temporary fix, the problem is with google and they are working to solve the issue!  Take Care and I'll be back tomorrow with something red, white, and blue!

Celebrate! Twins!

Celebrate TWINS!  A boy and girl!
Did you know The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store carries STAMPAVIE Stamps?  Today I made a card for a couple at our church who are expecting twins!  A boy & a girl!  I stamped the image twice using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, copic colored one complete image, copic colored just the baby image on the second, then hand cut image to place next to her brother!  I decided to paper piece the baby blankets, so I stamped twice again on a scrap of designer paper, then proceeded to cut them out and glued each atop the topic colored images!  This card will accompany a little gift idea I am working on!  I will share when finished!

Are you having a good day!  I hope so!  Praying the sleet will end here in Michigan!  I've lived in Michigan all my life and confess I do not like snow & cold weather!  I was born in California and contribute this fact to the reason why my bones need warm climates!

STAMPS: Stampavie (Stamp Simply RIBBON Store), JustRite Celebrate Sentiment - Topsy Turvy Cakes Set (Stamp Simply RIBBON Store)
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black (Stamp Simply RIBBON Store)
PAPER: Lablanche (Stamp Simply RIBBON Store)
OTHER: 1.25" Silk Ribbon (Stamp Simply RIBBON Store), Scrap Designer paper, Kaisercraft Adhesive pearl (Stamp Simply RIBBON Store), Copic Markers
