Kaleidoscope Medallions

Good Friday Morning! This is Day Four of the JustRite October Release and it's all about Kaleidoscope Medallions! I have two cards for you today, same image, just different coloring and card shapes! The image on the card above is stamped once, colored, then trimmed before adhering to yellow paper.

A peek at the entire Kaleidoscope Medallions Set! Just gorgeous, no? These 3 1/4" center and outer border images look beautiful simply stamped or stamped and colored. I have stamped and colored with Copics for today's creations!

Here is a square card with a totally different look, same image but stamped twice and colored with Copics before trimming and attaching to white stamped border piece.

Close up detail of the two images, one adhered atop the other creating a fuller medallion look! The gorgeous silk ribbon and lace compliment the image perfectly!

As part of JustRite's October Release they are introducing QR codes to all their new packaging and catalogs. What is a QR (Quick Response Code)?
  • QR codes are pixelated squares that you can scan with a smart phone app.
  • Scanning the QR code with your phone will bring you directly to a website or landing page.
  • JustRite QR Codes on JR packaging and in JustRite Catalogs will link a stamp set to JustRite's Design Gallery for that set.
  • Scan the code with your phone to see what your favorite designers have created with a set before you purchase the set in your favorite store.
  • Use your smart phone to access the design gallery for your stamp set from your craft room when you are ready to use your set or from our mini fliers and catalogs when you are sitting in a car waiting to pick up your child from a sporting event!

Here is a smaller version of our Shabby Chic Labels Four QR code for you to play with if you have a smart phone! Pretty cool! You may have a QR code scanner already on your phone but if you don't you can upload any of these apps for your iPhone - Red Laser (free), NeoReader (free), Optiscan ($1.99) For your Android Phone - QR Droid.

I chose to get out the embroidery needle and thread for this card! I stamped the image onto a scrap of white linen with Memento London Fog Grey ink. I trimmed the image and taped it to my white die cut. I LOVE this so much my plan is to embroider all of the images and place them in a mat and frame for a wall decor art piece!

And here is the entire JustRite Grandma's Doilies Set! It is divine! These images pair wonderfully with the new JustRite Lace borders set!

Here is a close up to give a you a better look at the detail! I added a simple sentiment from JustRite's Happy Everything Mini Tag Set. The tag set is now a staple on my desk, I reach for it often!

Stamp Simply Ribbon Inspiration- LACE

I'm convinced the weeks fly by faster & faster as time marches on! Another week has flown by and here we are with another Stamp Simply Ribbon Inspiration Saturday! This week we are featuring LACE!
There are lots of pictures today showing you a Graphic45 Staples, their envelope six pocket kraft album that I covered with Graphic45 Once Upon a Springtime papers! I added the year 2012 because this is a Gratitude Album for 2012 that will be gifted to my daughter! There are six envelopes, each envelope contains two index cards with corresponding months and days to write at least one thing every day of the year that she is grateful for! The 8x8 Once Upon a Springtime paper pad is on sale! This is a peek at the album back. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that 1/4" ringlet trim for edging! Inside the front top flap shows the adhesive Velcro dot and the ringlet trim again. The bow embellishment on the front flap features 7/8" white crochet lace for the bow with a suede leaf and chenille dot ribbon pressed onto a trimmed down Cosmo Cricket Gluber! This pocket flap is edged with 3/4" lace with pearl center. There is a suede leaf to the right side of the crochet lace flower. The 1 1/2 " pink lace is folded in half and hand sewn to gather center thus creating the round blossom. More of the 3/4" lace with pearl center trimming the flap and making the bow located in the lower right hand corner of this envie page.
More 7/8" crochet lace with 1/8" velvet ribbon inserted down the ribbon center. I had just a tiny piece of the crochet lace left so I created an embellishment by sewing the edge and gathering!
This lace comes to us off a Webster's Pages Ribbon Trim Card! The small blossom is created using 5/8" sheer loop trim!
And the final page uses one of my all time favorites, 1/4" ringlet trim! I created a flower by sticking it around in a circular fashion onto a Cosmo Cricket gluber! I LOVE it! It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day living this life that we forget to pause and Be Grateful! I think this little gratitude album will help to remember just that! A favorite saying of mine that reflects along the same line of thought- What if we woke up today with only the things we thanked God for yesterday?

And here is the LACE Ribbon goodness that will be won by commenting on the designer's blogs listed below! You may want to comment on each one, because it increases your chances of winning! Good Luck! The blog candy winner will be selected at 6pm EST on Tuesday, September 27 and posted on Sharon's BLOG on Tuesday night or Wednesday, so please check to see if you're the lucky winner!

It's a Metallic Ribbon Inspiration Saturday! Stamp Simply Style!

Good Morning, welcome to another ribbon inspiration Saturday, brought to you by The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store! We are challenging ourselves to use that metallic ribbon! It can also be any type of metallic feature, as in rhinestones! Even wired edge ribbon! Gold and silver string! I think you get the picture! Well, I took the metal concept to the max! My daughter had a jewelry party recently, and of course Mom was the best customer! I could not throw out the silver boxes that the jewelry arrived in! So here we are repurposing!
I start with my mirrored paper. I die cut using Spellbinders Blossoms Three dies for the box top flower. I proceeded to Cuttlebug emboss the blossoms with Kassies Brocade, folding at every petal creating a peak and valley around the blossom. I attached each size blossom with a foam dimensional stacking to the top. Blue edged silver ribbon, rhinestones, and silver sheer ribbon add to the box top decor. I placed a silver mirrored paper insert to raise my presentation of money! This box could certainly hold a gift card as well as a special handwritten note. The paper is cut with an exacto knife to accommodate the ribbon running under and up to tie on the right hand side. My sentiment from JustRite's Charming Christmas fit perfectly on the smallest die cut. Not bad for a repurposed box, I have three smaller silver boxes to go!
This is a Mystery Blog Candy, meaning the winner will be drawn from comments on one of today’s participating blogs! Be sure to leave a comment on each blog to increase your chances of winning all this metallic ribbons, trims, and rhinestones!!! The winner will be selected at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, September 20 & will be posted on SHARON'S BLOG on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, so please check back to claim your prize if you are the lucky winner! Good luck! All goodies are from The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store!

The suede element on my card is the faux suede leaves. If you have not worked with these leaves you are missing out! They come in seven different colors and are sold by the yard with approximately 17-18 leaves per yard. The can be stuffed and decoratively stitched too! This is the first time using Lippy Red colored Kaiser Adhesive gems! I love this color! My bloom is cut using Spellbinders Blossoms Three dies found HERE. They're on sale too! The papers on my creation today are from the above Cosmo Cricket paper, Odds & Ends. What a darling pad of paper. I love the quality and variety of pages. This pad includes 36 pages that have elements that can be cut apart and used separately on your creations. I love that bonus! You can see on my card in the lower right hand corner one of those cut out elements.

Frugal Friday!

Hello! Here we are with another JustRite Challenge! We are calling this one Frugal Friday! The challenge is to recycle or reuse an item and transform that something into a gift in some way! It gave me a chance to create a twig placecard holder idea I saw a while back from Martha Stewart! (I am gifting these to me!)

Instead of a name placecard holder I am going to be using these on my holiday buffet table to identify foods & beverage! I added more of an embellishment than Martha! I did not make these buttons, I bought them years ago and dug them out of the bottom of my button jar. But if you desired you could take embroidered felt and make your own using a covered button kit that are available at your fabric store. The holly leaves are made by cutting my rose leaves into holly looking leaves! I adding a bead of glue along the edges and dipped into fine glitter. No need to buy holly leaves! Again using what I already have!

The sentiment tag is from JustRite's Happy Everything Tag Making Kit! A spinkle of glue and Polar White Flower Soft on the twigs to look like snow and we're done! A hot glue gun was used to glue twigs together at each end leaving a slot to hold the white cardstock! Twigs, old buttons, transformed rose leaves along with a stamped sentiment! Doesn't get much cheaper, ahem frugal than that! lol

Be sure to check out the JustRite Stampers BLOG for all the challenge info! There are prizes to be won! Can't wait to see what everyone creates! Take good care! See you tomorrow for Ribbon Inspiration Saturday, Stamp Simply Style!

Ribbon Inspiration Winner!

Guess what? The mystery Blog Candy was on my blog! Yuppers, that's right! And I am pleased to announce the lucky winner of the rosette Ribbon package from The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store! She is:
Carol E said... Love the projects you made especially the hair piece, thank you for sharing.
Please contact Sharon to claim your prize! Her contact email is: ssj@up.net Congratulations Carol! Enjoy your goodies and thank you to all who visited and left comments!

I have another creation using the shabby daisy today! I created a card using leftover fabric from my studio curtain! Sigh! I love these colors! And the shabby daisy looks great with this fabric. I machine stitched the fabric onto my cream cardstock then distressed the edges. The 5/8" twill brown ribbon is hand stitched and gathered. It is held in place with scor tape!

The 1/8" Ivory velvet ribbon and suede leaf, twill and shabby daisy are found at The Stamp Simply RIBBON Store along with the JustRite Happy Everything Tag Kit. This sentiment is found in the Just Because Mini Sentiment set. I actually machine stitched the velvet stem onto my fabric base. I was skeptical because of the width and did not know how the velvet would take the machine stitching. I was soooo pleased with the result! You can faintly see the stitches in the picture above!

There you have it! Another use for the Shabby Daisy! Congratulations again to Carol! Join us again this Saturday for another Ribbon Inspiration Day! Take good care!

JustRite Stampers will be giving away 2 Stamp Sets of the winners choice

For my creation I chose to make a "Remember" book for my daughter. I have always clipped sayings, important reminders of those everyday thoughts we sometimes forget! When I started Pinterest, I began a board to pin all the wonderful saying that I want to remember and want to make sure I pass along to my daughter! I'm sure through the years she has heard many of them! But a book to browse and remember is a good thing!

I started with a Grand Large Labels chipboard album from Want2Scrap. I covered each page with paper from K&Company Spring Blossom cut with Spellbinders Grand Label die. The front cover embellishment is die cut using Spellbinders Grand Labels and Labels Fourteen. See that fantastic bling? Nesta Bling is a fab new embellishment that fit Spellbinder dies! YES! That's right! Sigh! Life is good!

The book is a work in progress. I have added memorable sayings to three of the pages so far. This particular page also has another Labels Fourteen die cut with awesome NestaBling! Clipping and adhering pictures, favorites words in magazines etc in those large grey paged scrapbooks bring back heartfelt memories for sure! Remember those flimsy grey paged scrapbooks? We certainly did not have fabulous goods we have today! And that's a good thing!

And the following page! I edged each page with white craft ink to soften the paper a bit. This page includes one of my all time favorite sayings! Grace isn't a little prayer you say before receiving a meal, it's a way to live! Love it!

Another page! I have more to go on this page as well as finishing the remaining pages! I'll share as I complete them! I hope this book will be browsed often! And maybe some of these thoughts will be passed along to our daughter's children! Enjoy the hop! Take good care!

Ribbon Inspiration, Stamp Simply Style!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is starting a new and regular Saturday post. Due to a glitch in the system we were not able to post this past Saturday, so here we are on Monday! But from now on, tune in every Saturday as we share some ribbon inspiration with you! This feature is called, Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style. We'll feature one type of ribbon every week and show you various ways that we like to use it. You'll see designs from the regular Stamp Simply Designers as well as a few guests popping in to share!

This week we are showcasing Rosettes. There are many types of premade flowers sold by the yard that offer a variety of opportunities for scrapping, card-making, sewing and crafting in general. Wait till you see the wonderful Rosette inspiration today! All Rosettes in stock can be seen here.

There is Mystery Blog Candy, meaning the winner will be drawn from comments on one of today’s participating blogs, so leaving a comment on each blog increases your chances of winning, but only one comment per blog, please. The winner will be selected at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, September 8 and will be posted on Sharon's BLOG on Thursday night or Friday morning, so please check back to claim your prize if you are the lucky winner!

For my ribbon inspiration today, my pick was the Shabby Daisy! It's sold by the yard, and there is approximately 12 flowers per yard! And when I just linked to the store, I see that they are on sale! Score! Using the shabby daisies, I decided to make a floral pin to be used on this darling sweatshirt. I embroidered around the sweatshirt neck edge and along the bottom band. The pin features two trimmed shabby daisies sewn together. After gathering my 1/2" wrinkle yellow ribbon, along with a loop of 1/2" fuchsia wrinkle ribbon I sewed that atop the daisies. It is finished off with a button from my button stash, tied with 1/8" teal velvet ribbon!

The shabby daisy creation is pinned on the out side of the sweatshirt. This enable it to be easily removed for laundering! This shabby daisy trim is available in three colors too!

Of course, we have to have a matching hair clip! Using the same ribbons as the pin, I sewed them together before sewing to the hair clip. There is one shabby daisy folded in half to achieve an appropriate size for the hair clip.

Here is the simple sewing of the hair ribbon treatment onto the hair clip! There are so many possibilities for this shabby daisy trim! I have two more creations to share this week using this spectacular shabby ribbon flower! Be sure to stop by the super talented designer's blogs for your ribbon inspiration! Thanks for stopping by! Have a marvelous Monday!
