Ovarian cancer is one of the deadliest cancers because it goes unnoticed for years. They call it the “silent killer.” Most women can shrug off the symptoms as other things. My only symptom was that I was so tired. “But...having 3 children will do that to you!” My regular doctor found my cancer when I was 39 years old and scheduled me an appointment with the best oncologist in South Carolina. My doctor found my
ovarian cancer because he took a risk and ran a test that my insurance might not have covered.
Today, we need to encourage all the women we know & love to go for their yearly check ups. If there is any kind of family cancer they need to insist on having the lab work done. Each woman has to be her own advocate. No one else will automatically do it for us. WE have to schedule the appointments, WE have to request the tests, WE have to look for ways to protect our own health and take care of ourselves. Make your appointment & make your mother, sisters and friends schedule their appointments!
“During my cancer recovery I was blessed to receive cards and notes from friends to encourage me. My hope is that you will use these stamps to encourage your loved ones that are the care givers or are fighting cancer. “
—Amy
My creation utilizes both sets that are dedicated to JustRite Crafting for a Cause! This card will be given to my dear friend who has been battling breast cancer for two years. In addition to yesterday's reveal of JustRite's Original Set, Strength and Courage, today we are revealing JustRite's very first CLEAR STAMP SET, Be Strong! YES, that is correct, A CLEAR STAMP SET!
Here is the entire set! OH my gracious! It's such a versatile set, that can be used for thinking of you, sympathy, get well cards too! I used many words and the smaller ribbon on my card today. Be Strong contains 21 stamps and coordinates with Spellbinders Oval Dies!
A closeup view of the main sentiment that uses stamps from JustRite's Strength and Courage Original Stamp Set. I stamped the ribbon with Tim Holtz Tattered Rose ink and colored with my Copic Markers, adding some glitter bling around the edges! The same ink is applied around the entire sentiment cut out.
And this is a view of JustRite's Original Stamp Set, Strength and Courage. Again, think of the possibilities that this set offers, thinking of you, get well, and sympathy to name a few. The ribbons and creations can be customized any color. Amy has developed the chart below that indicates the colors of cancers that are used to depict each separate disease.
It is our hope that this chart helps with the use of JustRite's Crafting for a Cause SETS. Unfortunately we all have someone in our families, or circle of friends affected by cancers. We are very blessed that Amy has shared her story and encourages us all to get that screening. Thank You, Amy!
Join us, won't you? JustRite is CRAFTING for a CAUSE and we invite you to come along for the cause! It's a privilege and honor to walk along side JustRite in this fight! Thank you for stopping by today, Take good care!
