JustRite Wednesday Christmas Blog HOP #4

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #4! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving various industry designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! This week, it’s the Spellbinders design team! So mark your calendars, Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!
For my creation today, I wanted a card to go along with this plate & spreader I purchased. They came in sets of two, so I separated and now will have two gift packages to give! The moment I saw these items in the store, I knew immediately I needed to buy, so I could add the beautiful winter cardinal image from JustRite's BackYard Birds Set. Perfect, no? I tend to gift items that I can coordinate with my stamping and papercrafting ideas in hopes the recipient likes the idea as much as I do! This will just be our little secret!
Here is a look at the complete BackYard Birds Set! The images are terrific, and so much fun to color! I used my 3 1/4" round wooden stamper, stamping the border with Memento Cottage Ivy ink and the cardinal with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Here are the Copic Markers I utilized. I also lightly rubbed blue chalk with my dauber onto the background of the image along with Tim Holtz Distress Old Paper ink around the cardstock edges. There is also Polar White FlowerSoft adhered to the branch for the snow effect!
The card is cut out using Spellbinders Eyelet Circles #4 die, first scoring, then placing the die slightly below the fold to create a card. The inside actually is seen through the die cut circle on the card front. String is found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store

Let's Celebrate! JustRite Style!

When JustRite released this set Let's Celebrate, I was thrilled! Our grandson's bedroom is along this animal theme! Especially the darling monkey image! I started this project right away and just now got it to the finish line! It was a long summer! lol The base is a yellow canvas I purchased at Michaels. I proceeded to give it a wash of Gold Perfect Pearls mixed with Ranger's Perfect Fabric Medium, I purchased mine at Joan's Gardens. It really tones down the yellow and gives a light sheen. I proceeded to add the ric rac with scor tape. The ric rac can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! Here is the darling Let's Celebrate set, I used all the animal images with the same border, coloring with Copic markers. I left off the words when I stamped the monkey image.
I'm so glad I didn't get to the finish line when I wanted, because I would not have had JustRite's new Myriad Font! I LOVE the clean line of this font, and it is offered in upper and lower case in two sizes. I used 95pt lower case font for my stamping! JustRite is having a 25% off font sale through the end of October! Go check it out!
And another angle of the finished piece! I hope Kaylub likes it! Sorry about the lack of posting, my dear hubby was in the hospital again! He's home now, doing better. Take good care and thanks so much for stopping by!

Bridal Inspiration!

For Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge today, we have this beautiful Indian bride photo. She is wearing a bridal sari, customary for an Indian wedding. Take a look at all the colors, texture, the shimmer of the fabric, beading, and the patterns. Our challenge: Use this photo for our inspiration! Take what speaks to you in the photo and bring it to life in your creation! I chose to use the colors in the photo for my inspiration and create a Christmas card. The focal point is from a page in my Crafty Secrets Christmas Images & Journal Notes. This is just the top portion of the page. The pad contains 32 pages, with the ability to use each page for two cards! That would make 64! Quick, simple, and oh so needed when creating holiday cards! Using my Krylon gold leafing pen, not only did I edge my card front focal point & layers, I decided to carry it to the card inside! After stamping my sentiment (Clearly Wordsworth by RubberSoul Set; Classic Christmas), I cut out and leafed the edging. Card complete!
We hope you play along with us this week! If you upload your creation to a public forum, please use keyword, ssnotime158 so we can take a peek! Remember to upload over on Sharon's blog with Mr Linky too! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'm trying to get back into the swing of life again! I have a darling wall decor piece to share with you tomorrow! See you then and take good care!

Give Thanks! JustRite Nested Frames

Today I have a card using JustRite's GIVE THANKS Nested Frames Set. Nested frames can add an easy and fun twist to our stamped creations! The sentiment can be used alone, placed with one frame, or utilize both frames. Mix the various designed frames together, or place them askew to create interest, as I did on today's card.
After stamping my frame, I cut out the center with my xacto knife and along the outer edges. It is placed askew atop the die cut Spellbinders frame. There are two buttons, with the twill tied to the bottom button, then stacked, held together with foam dimensionals. Check out the JustRite BLOG for all the latest JustRite news!
Mark you calendars, every Wednesday through November 24, JustRite will be joining talented designers to bring you Christmas inspiration goodness, week after week! Thanks so much for stopping by! I have been under the weather for over a week! UGH...I am feeling better and hope to get the stamping mojo flowing again! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Let's Hear It for the Guys!

Guy cards just don't seem to come as easy for most of us as the pretty, frilly, girlie cards, agree? This weeks Stamp Simply Challenge is to come up with some great ideas for guy cards, birthday, thank you, get well, thinking of you, etc. Ones that are more suited for the guys in our lives. Sharon Johnson has issued only one other stipulation, NO BOWS! She says we may use ribbon or string, but in a *manly* fashion, LOL!
I chose to make a needed guy Thank You card. The thanks sentiment is found in this set, Everyday Greetings and can be purchased at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I stamped it twice, once in Memento London Fog ink and then stamped again in Memento Tuxedo black ink, placing the image slightly to the right of the first stamping. I love the shadow effect this gives, and being that the stamps are clear, it makes it a snap to achieve! And maybe creates a more manly look, no? All paper is from the Lush Collection by KaiserCraft, also found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. These 6" paper pads contain punch out labels, decorative borders, and tag like pieces that coordinate with the designer pad papers. I placed two under the oval punched sentiment, first applying London Fog ink to the edges. To add interest, I scored the card front designer paper utilizing my Scor It board, then slightly rubbed white ink over the entire paper piece. The scored lines picked up more ink, providing an interesting background. Subtle, but there.

Week 1 JustRite Blog Hop!

Welcome to JustRite's Week One Christmas Blog Hop! We will be celebrating every Wednesday for twelve consecutive weeks with Christmas inspiration goodness! For my creation today I made an ornament utilizing an image from JustRite's Groovy Snowman Set. I settled on the Snowlady for this ornament! I love these images, snowmen always make me smile and warm my heart! The "snow" in the container is FlowerSoft Polar White!
The image is Copic colored with added Spica pens that give a sparkle to the cuffs, carrot nose, hat embellishment and tree!
A look at the tin top before I finished, to let you see the holes created using my CropaDile. I threaded my silk ribbon through and tied to create the ornament hanger. The silk bow is attached with a glue dot.

Transitioning into Fall!

Falling Leaves, is a great theme this time of year! Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge this week is to incorporate leaves into our projects, any type of leaves! We're looking forward to seeing some beautiful leaf creations as we transition into fall mode! I made a Halloween card utilizing my favorite leaf embellishments this year! You can't go wrong with these suede leaves! They are so soft and easy to work with. I wanted my leaves to look somewhat crunched, you know how they get when they fall and start to dry out?
This is how I scrunched the leaves. Using Jute String, and a large eye needle, sew a running stitch down the middle of each leaf and pull to gather. These suede leaves come in many colors and are a snap to use!
When I got to the base of each leaf, I added a button using the same string. After trimming the string, I then taped string end down with scotch tape and secured entire leaf and button to card using glue dots. Let's see what leaves fall into your creations this week! If you upload to a public forum, please use keyword, ssnotime155. Remember to upload to Mr Linky over on Sharon's BLOG.
Check out the falling leaves captured in the Stamp Simply Designers creations!

Glitter HERE, Glitter THERE, Glitter Everywhere!

Using JustRite's NEW Myriad Pro 50pt. font on my BOO tag creates a fun, fall, and Halloween look! I learned how to use some of Tim Holtz's products last week while visiting Joan's Gardens! I have always loved the distress inks for edging paper, but tried to stay away from wanting more product! LOL, but have to say I'm hooked! LOVE the technique of pressing the ink pads onto the mat, spritzing with water and just lay and rub your paper into it! The black sheer ribbon is from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!
The pumpkin, fence and flower are all cut using Tim's grunge paper! I got some of that too! The blending tool is quickly becoming a favorite! Just look at that new font! LOVE the clean lines of the Myriad Pro letters. The new set consists of Upper and Lower case fonts! The JustRite Friday Challenge this week is Glitter Magic! Not only does the perfect pearls add a sparkle effect, I added Stickles to the tag edge, rubbed a little on the small flower and pumpkin vine!
Check out JustRite's challenge info HERE! There are prizes to be won! So, go get glitter everywhere and have FUN! Take GOOD care!
