Year End Teacher Treats! Stamp Simply Style!

This week's Stamp Simply #134 Challenge is to make a GRADUATION card. Not everyone will have the need for graduation cards, so the ALTERNATE challenge is to make something that can be used for the end of the school year -- a note of thanks, treat for teacher or even treats for the kids on the last day of school. NO students or teachers in your life? Create a card of congratulations, well wishes to someone ending or entering a new phase of their life, a new job, retirement, a move, you get the idea! Easy and FUN! Now, that is why I love Stamp Simply challenges so much!

Yesterday, I shared this Teacher Treats Bag! I was leading into today's Stamp Simply Challenge! What's in the bag, you ask? Stamp Simply style contents, of course! I turned the stationary box around in the bag, so the box bottom is revealed, just a better pic that way! And take a look at that GORGEOUS velvet polka dot sheer ribbon! Love that it is polka dotted to coordinate with the bag, but it's sheerness doesn't overwhelm the gift package! The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is having a SHEER ribbon sale through today, April 9. Go take a look, HERE!

I spied this teacher stationary set at my local Dollar Tree. The polka dot edging caught my eye, since I had just placed the gift bag in my cart! I removed the cello packaging, folded the sheets in half and created a box to house the set. Box bottom paper is Papertreyink. Instructions for box creating can be found HERE! So we went from this stationary set to THIS! Love the Spellbinders Labels 8, #4, #5, & #6 dies. The school days pic is from October Afternoon's Report Card paper pad. How perfect is this image? The belly band paper is from the same paper pad. October Afternoon Report Card paper can be purchased at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. It was a very good day at The Dollar Tree. Can you believe these socks? I'd never heard of planetsox, but googled, and they list many retailers that carry their socks! These particular socks were two different socks creating one pair! What? I think that's why they were at The Dollar Tree! However, why not purchase two sets, take them apart, match up the socks, so we have THIS. Two matching pairs of teacher socks! They are such nice quality and soft. This adorable letter paper can also be found in the October Afternoon Report Card paper pad at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I adhered the letter strip with scor tape onto the black cardstock to make a band. Then it occurred to me that these would be wonderful book marks. So, I added red 1/8" silk ribbon on one end, wrapped it around the paper strip, and tied a bow, so it can easily be removed! I tell ya, I don't think I could live without that 1/8" silk ribbon now, I used it to tie on the bag buttons, hold the bag tag, and tie the sock bands! So, now you know what's in the Teacher Treats bag! We hope this week's challenge will inspire you to get busy on those year end school creations! You can play along anytime, as many times as you choose. Remember to post your creation over on Sharon's Mr Linky! If you upload to Splitcoaststampers, use keyword, ssnotime134. Teacher Thank You Treats! JustRite & SWEET!!

Above is a gift card for the Teacher Thank You gift I've put together. The scored diagonal lines fulfill today's Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It challenge! Hooray, two SCS challenges completed this week! The card is cut with a Spellbinders's square scallop die after scoring a top fold line. The die is moved down a tiny bit to leave the top fold, hence creating a card. The stamped sentiments are from JustRite Stampers What's Cookin' Set. The center is stamped with StazOn black, while the border is stamped with VersaFine Red. EKSuccess circle punches and Spellbinder's circle die create the various sized circles. I purchased this bag at my local Dollar Tree. It's sold as a purse, however I do not think it is sturdy enough to hold items with any weight. But, I liked it so much, I envisioned utilizing it as a gift bag. So, an idea was in the infant stage!
I then decided to add buttons for embellishment along the bottom handle opening. Using my large eyed needle and 1/8"silk ribbon to attach and tie the buttons secure adds just the right amount of embellishing! The silk ribbon and gorgeous sueded polka dot sheer ribbon on the purse handle is from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
I have special teacher thank you items to place in this special bag, and will show you those items tomorrow! Take good care, see you then!

You're Sweet! Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge!

I'm still working with the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety chipboard and patterned paper. (I purchased mine at Joan's Gardens) I haven't created a SCS sketch challenge card in forever! So, today I decided to give it a go! I love SCS challenges, just never enough time! Go take a look HERE at today's sketch challenge details.
Because chipboard is so nice and thick, I knew layering the pieces would result in the chipboard element becoming too high on my card. So, here is what I did. I peeled off layers of backing so I could get a thinner piece to adhere to my paper. I added my own adhesive, because I had peeled off the adhesive layer.
Closeup of the darling smiling strawberry! Papertreyink aqua mist paper and ribbon match the chipboard perfectly! Pure Poppy and Vintage Cream cardstock are also Papertreyink.
All in all, a pretty straightforward card! I am going to put the chipboard away for a while! No, really I am! At least for a few days! We are approaching the end of the school year and you know what that means! Graduations, teacher thank you notes & treats! Can't wait to show you what ideas I have been creating for this special time of year! TAKE GOOD CARE!

Friends, Flowers in the Garden of Life!

I am in LOVE with Cosmo Cricket's adhesive chipboard pieces (I purchased mine at Joan's Gardens)! Talk about easy, peasy! These particular pieces and designer paper is from their Garden Variety line. I think the large flowers resemble clouds! This is the back side of the designer paper, where I paper pierced to create a ground of sorts. I then threaded my silk ribbon into my large eyed needle, and brought the ribbon up through one of the pierced holes. They are scotch taped in place to hold. The fabulous ribbon is from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! This 1/8" silk ribbon is wonderful to work with! Ribbon is not just for creating bows!!! On the front I used a tiny bit of scor tape at the top of the ribbon, then placed the adhesive round on it. Stem leaves are attached with a piece of scor tape under the stem to hide the adhesive. For my card inside, I chose my sentiment from JustRite's Joyful Hearts Borders Set. Such an appropriate message for the card! Check out JustRite's WELCOME SPRING Sale in progress, 20% off all 1 3/16" stamp sets for the month of April!
Card inside revealing the stamped sentiment and border. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, while the border used Papertreyink's Pure Poppy. The Spellbinders oval cut pieces are edged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Old Paper. Copics are used to color flowers.
There you have it! An easy, springtime card that was so much fun to create! Hope you and the ones you love had a blessed Easter! Take good care, I'll see you tomorrow for more easy creating FUN!

Chipboard Goodness, Stamp Simply Challenge Style!

Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge this week, is to use chipboard! I especially LOVE adhesive chipboard for simple and easy creating! For my creation today, I used Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety adhesive chipboard pieces, along with their Garden Variety designer paper. (chipboard & paper from Joan's Gardens) Cardstock is Papertreyink. Wide yellow ric rac and jute string (bows) are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!
The inside card carries through the patterned paper and chipboard pieces along with a stamped Tweet created using JustRite's 96pt Times New Roman font, upper and lower case. Tweet is stamped with Papertreyink Pure Poppy ink. Taylored Expressions tiny gems are adhered with Tombow Mono liquid glue.
Pictured is JustRite's lowercase Times New Roman font, the first letter of my word is same 95pt font only uppercase. We sure hope you can play along this week! Bag-A-Lopes! JustRite!

I needed a few small candy bags and decided to go with bag a lopes, created from envelopes. I followed the tutorial, HERE over at Splitcoaststampers. I used the same A2 sized SU envie for each bag, I just scored at different increments and trimmed tops to create various sized bags.. I went with flowers I had already created, and attached with scor tape. This bag holds yummy Dove dark chocolate eggs! They are pink and silver wrapped, so this was a perfect filler!
And here is a bag with just flowers and adhesive pearls. The top is tied together with silver cording. The bag tops are scalloped using my corner rounder. Most ribbons are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
The stamped sentiments for two of the bag a lopes are from JustRite's Just A Note Set. Copic markers RV11, RV14, & G21 are the colors used for flowers and leaves. Taylored Expressions tiny gems are attached with TomBow Mono Multi Liquid glue.
So there you have it! Easy and fast, which is exactly what I need about now! Hope you are having a great week so far! I'll be back tomorrow with my Stamp Simply Challenge creation! Think chipboard! Take good care!
