color challenge july 30

Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge this week is to use this photo as our color inspiration! Green and Yellow it is! My card reflects yellow and a green blue color! The gorgeous yellow silk ribbon reflects the wall color in the photo. A pretty simple card, adding the punched ticket corners by each pearl. This is a quick post as I am heading out the door to see Sharon Johnson in person! Yes! We are going to Michigan's upper peninsula for a stamping event, and I will be at Sharon's Friday Open House! So, this is a timed post and I am praying it posts without a hitch! Take Good Care!

Long, Long ago...

In 1984, I painted this sweet porcelain bird! I found this treasure as I unpacked some of the last boxes from our move last June. I examined it carefully and wondered why did I only keep one since I had painted dozens at the time! But, I do give away most of the work I do. Because for the most part, all work is created with a certain person or persons in mind.
Oil paint was used, utilizing tiny bushes! You can see how thin the piece of porcelain is! This was meant to be an ornament, hence the reason for the wire hanger. Long, long ago, in 1984, where have the years gone? It's nostalgia at its best here in the studio today! Hoping you have memories that bring a smile to your heart as well! Take good care!

Christmas in July! JustRite!

It's Christmas in July with JustRite! We are showing you Christmas ideas and creations to start that holiday magic! Can you believe it, in 8 days, we will be 5 months away from Christmas Day? So, while the outdoor temperatures may feel too warm or the calendar feels a bit too early to start thinking Christmas, I propose creating for the holidays year round makes for a more relaxing holiday! Are you with me?

How about a reindeer tic tac toe board game today, utilizing the reindeer image from one of JustRite's newest sets, Holiday cheer? This adorable image is sure to please players of all ages!

The markers are color coded, by the reindeer's scarf, hat rim, and patterned paper. Beneficial for color recognition, each marker is stamped with X's and O's for a bit of letter review! The reindeer nose is accented with crystal effects.

The board was purchased at my local Dollar Tree. I painted the wood and inserted squares for color and dimension. It allows the markers to really show well too. This item really is intended for a wall hanging and came with hangers attached to the backside. I removed them. A closer peek at the button feet! After the patterned paper was adhered to the sides, I lightly sanded the edges.

And another angle of the completed board. I painted the board with white acrylic paint. What a fun and economical gift that can be loved and used all year long! The JustRite Stampers Design team has inspiration upon inspiration for you today! Take good care and enjoy the hop! A Sketch Challenge, Clean & Simple!

For this Friday's Stamp Simply Challenge we are offering a Clean and Simple Sketch for you to follow. There are so many different looks achieved when using the same basic sketch, and we want to see what your creation will look like! If you want to dress up this basic sketch that is just fine too! The most important challenge rule: have FUN!!
I altered the sketch a bit to accommodate the images I used. I made simple 4x4 cards. The front panel from fold to edge is 2 1/4" with image being adhered on the left side allowing it to extend off the paper edge. The images come from Crafty Secrets Halloween Images & Journal Notes. I LOVE these paper pads. You can find them at The Stamp Simply Store. I trimmed off the tops of two pages to get the images here. Wide ric rac with a darling button embellish the image perfectly! A few adhesive pearls and jute string and we are good to go! Here is an opened card to see how the front panel manuevers. The paper on the card inside is from October Afternoon's Fly A Kite. Super fun, simple, and easy! I thought since many are creating for the holidays in July I may as well get some Halloween cards completed! LOL Hope you get to play along this week. Use keyword ssnotime149 if you upload to a public forum. Please remember to upload on Sharon's Mr Linky too! Let us know if you post on your blog, we want to see your take on the sketch! Take good care! Check out the fabulous Stamp Simply Challenge designers!

Snowy Greetings!

It's beginning to look a lot like, Christmas in July! This week, fellow Stamp Simply Challenge designer, Deb Neerman brings us our challenge! Deb wants us to create a Christmas, Kwanzaa, or Hanukkah card. The more festive, the better! I chose to go the snowy route! Pop in a holiday CD, break out the snowflakes, holiday card stock & papers, and holiday charms. What a great way to jump start our holiday card-making!
The darling stamped image on my card is found in the RubberSoul Wordsworth Set, Snowmen Collection and can be purchased at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! I used Copics to color, and stamped the image twice so I could cut another scarf and heart to pop up. After dry embossing my patterned paper, I applied Stickles to my finger and rubbed across the embossed panel. The gorgeous crinkled ribbon is 2" wide with wired edging.
***********************************************************************
So, for today I bring you Snowy Greetings in the heat of the summer! Thank you, Deb for a great challenge! And we hope you will join us this week! You may play as many times as you want, whenever you want! Be sure to use keyword ssnotime147 if you upload to a public forum! And upload on Sharon's Mr Linky! Thanks so much for stopping by! I love it when you do! Take good care!

Thank You

Needed some thank you cards and was in the mood for paper cutting! Stamping the flower image several times onto patterned patterned paper was easy enough! Love the layers of petals and the dimension it gives! The flower image is found in JustRite's "My Garden" set. I chose to only stamp the center as I knew I would add the Thank You sentiment! The card sentiment is found in JustRite's Baroque Nested Frames set. Again I chose to use the sentiment without the borders. That's what I love about JustRite stamps, I can pick and choose elements that fit my need!
Choosing the same papers, but different colors certainly gives each card individuality! A bit of coordinating ribbon flower centers help as well!
Oh my! Those suede leaves are the perfect touch! (they come in different colors too!) They are a staple now in my flower making supplies! LOL
There you have it! A photo of all three! Now to get them addressed and sent! Thanks so much for the kind comments regarding The Shabby Team Room Top Three! It makes the award even sweeter! Have a wonderful Wednesday! Take good care!

Christmas in July!

Creating holiday cards this time of year in many ways is more fun than any other time of year! The weather outside is sweltering! The holiday deadline is months away! No pressure! Are you with me on this? Lol Let's talk about the card! My image is heat embossed, with color added utilizing chalks! I used a q-tip to apply color, and an eraser to remove color, enabling me to add highlighting where needed. Easy! All Spellbinder dies and embellishments are listed below. My image comes to us from JustRite's Christmas Treasures Borders and Centers stamp set. Wonderful card possibilities with this set! Check out JustRite's new designers gallery, filled with inspiration after inspiration! Locate the Christmas Treasures label and click for additional ideas using this set! All sets are listed for your convenience! A side note: My hubby's birthday is six months to the day away from Christmas, and he reminds me of that fact every year! And on his birthday, he reminds me Christmas Day is only six months away! LOL, yes he has an odd sense of humor! Hmmm, maybe that is why I feel the need to get going on those holiday cards!!! Take good care and have a terrific Tuesday!!!

Star Light, Star Bright!

It's Friday and time for our Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge this week! We are focusing on stars in our projects. They may be patriotic stars; A+ Great Job! stars; twinkle, twinkle little stars, ANY kind of stars you like. And, they may be created any way you like, punched or die cut stars, stickers, star paper, I think you get the idea!

I chose to recycle a gift bag I received some time ago! I thought the checked bag with attached ribbon could use a few stars! I utilized all size dies to create the various stars and star frames. I then swiped my white ink pad over all the stars for a bit of texture! The ribbon tail stars are attached with a glue dot, easy as pie! The sentiment on the center star comes to us from Rubber Soul/Wordsworth's Everyday Greetings found in The Stamp Simply Store! The star tag is attached with gorgeous 1/8" red silk ribbon! This candy filled bag will travel with us Saturday to our friends Fourth of July barbecue!

We hope you can play along this week! Please use keyword ssnotime146 when uploading your creations to a public forum, remember to upload over on Sharon's Mr Linky too! And please let us know if you upload to your blog! You may play anytime, as many times as you want! The most important rule to play, HAVE FUN! Check out the Stamp Simply talented designer's Star creations!
