Butterflies and Buttons

A quick card today, using more scraps on the table! Floral Sera Sera designer paper is from K & Company. Ripe avocado cardstock and green dot paper is from Papertreyink. Buttons are from Papertreyink. I am loving stacking and playing with buttons these days. Something about all the colors and rummaging through them as I look at all the shapes and sizes fascinates me! As my husband remarks, and I quote, "It doesn't take much!"

I decided to use more scraps on the inside card. Scallop border and butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart. Added gems to butterflies add interest. All in all, a pretty simple card leaving me wanting spring! The sun is shining at least, but it is cold! I hope the sun is shining on you today! Happy Monday and take good care!

This lamb button has set on my work table for almost a year now! When I saw the Splitcoast Limited Supplies challenge yesterday, I was determined to get it on a card! SU cardstock and Basic Grey Ambrosia designer papers are utilized, and without planning it, by george this qualifies for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge! WooHoo! Other supplies used are Flower Soft, Kaiser adhesive pearls, Prima flower, button from my stash and black hemp. I used Colorbox Frost White and StazOn Jet black inks. Stamp sets are Papertreyink's My Punny Valentine and my JustRite 50pt. BRAYTON font using a Harmony 1 3/8 x 3 1/2 Rectangular wooden block. It is the coolest to be able to customize a sentiment to go along with the stamped image! It makes it, well, Just Right!

Mix and Match!

STAMP SIMPLY STYLE!

Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge this week is to use EITHER stripes and dots and mix them with any print or pattern you desire! Or use the stripes and dots together if you like. You may use patterned paper or stamp your own! Just forget the rules! Sharon shared when she was a youngster, one was taught not to mix patterns up in your clothing. Never wear plaids with a print, or stripes with polka dots. YOU just DID NOT do it back then! I remember those days! YES, I know I am dating myself, big time! But in papercrafting we can Mix and Match -- anything goes!!! So, play along, forget those old rules and have fun!

For my cards I chose to use SU rub ons that have been sitting on my work table forever, along with a pile of Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppies scrap papers. What better way to use them up, by mixing and matching! Deciding to go with scrap paper already on my table for Sharon's challenge was inspired by Kelli Fortin. This idea was featured on her blog as a design challenge and it worked perfectly with Sharon's this week. Check out Kelli's blog, Polished to Perfection. I added Papertreyink Bitty Dot Basics papers to the mix for some of the flower layers and matching envelope liners.

My set consists of three cards. All sentiments are rub ons along with the patterns you see on the card fronts. Flower layers were cut out using my Spellbinders Shapeabilities Nested Flower dies. Each card has a peek of color placed on the card front bottom edge. Again, scraps sitting on the table! LOL

I packaged the cards and envelopes in a clear card box, wrapped this absolutely exquisite ribbon around the middle, and tied a bow! I love this presentation and especially how simple it is! This ribbon is super for making bows! AND drum roll please, are you ready? You can get this ribbon over on Sharon Johnson's blog, No Time To Stamp? I am so excited she is offering ribbon choices, and her samples using her ribbon varieties will leave you wanting ALL she has to offer. Be sure to check it out! Stamp Simply, Ribbon Tabs!

For Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge this week, it's about bits of ribbon! Sharon challenges us to use a ribbon tab or tabs to adorn our card instead of our card wrapped with ribbon or bows. Well, it's a good thing that anything goes with Sharon's challenges, because as much as I tried to use JUST a ribbon tab, I could not get it to work with this card idea I had started! So, there are two ribbon tabs resulting in ribbon being wrapped around the card front, held by Bazzill black brads. Not what I had first envisioned, but it works! And that is what I adore about Sharon's challenges, the most important rule is to HAVE FUN!

I decided to try out my new Nestabilities, Large Pinking Circles. Using all Papertreyink cardstock, I layered three for the card inside. Two are attached to the ribbon strip, along with the Nestie circle cut stamped image. Copic Marker colors used for the image are in photo. Kaiser adhesive pearls used for flower centers.

For my card I chose to create my own sentiment that is revealed when the card front is opened. Using JustRite's NEW lower case Trompe Script 95pt font, made it a cinch, using my 1 5/8" round wood stamper. I trimmed in on the letter i to get a tighter letter fit. A Kaiser adhesive gem dots the i. The inside card photo gives you an idea of the card front backside, and the inside sentiment panel.

This photo gives a great look into the set's endless possibilities. I have another creations coming soon using this bonus center! Can't wait to show you! Stay tuned!

FOR A JustRite SPEEDY RECOVERY!

Unfortunately, I've needed a few wishing you well cards recently. I always vow to make more than I need at the time to get some in stock, but it never seems to happen! I must get better at stockpiling cards! These two particular cards will be sent to men, so I wanted to keep them toned down a bit. I know there is a bow and a few adhesive pearls, but we'll just tell them they're stickers. The above card used all Papertreyink Cardstock along with Bitty Dot Basics Designer papers. Ribbon is also Papertreyink. Nestability Labels Two and small circle dies were utilized and a ticket corner punch.

Do you notice I have a center stamped area, and TWO borders surrounding the center? That's right folks, you have the ability to place two outer rings on this 2" stamper! I chose a decorative center, another decorative ring and then chose to spell words for my outer ring. The center and closest outer ring are from the set, Special Occasion Deluxe Kit and can be seen HERE. This versatility enables me to create precisely what I need to say. Gotta love that! Other notables of this card are the paper piercing, hemp twine and the adhesive pearl placement. Martha Stewart border punches for edges. Same focal point center as card above but with a whole different feel and look to it! Let's take a look at the set with the 2" round block. I chose my center and the first outer ring from this set, Special Occasion Deluxe Kit. Stamping them in different ink colors allows me to pick up the same colors in the designer papers I chose.

You get a bonus with this Wood Stamper 2" set, a 15pt font set and center image. I have stamped the flower vase center for another project, you're gonna love it! Butterfly Card

This is my creation for the sketch challenge over on Splitcoaststampers today! Utilizing my K & Company Madeline designer paper, I cut one of the butterflys out to adorn the bow. Cardstock and ribbon is from SU. A Martha Stewart edge punch is used for the pink panel border trim.

Kaiser adhesive gems are used on Papertreyink buttons as well as on the butterfly. I stacked two buttons, adhering together with glue dots. The sentiment is from Papertreyink's set, Mixed Messages and punched using a SU word window punch. Flowers are from Making Memories. Hope you are having a super week so far! Bunny Face Heart Tins

Isn't this the cutest Bunny Face ever?

I had the best intentions to use these wonderful Papertreyink Heart tins for a Valentine's project! But as it goes, I didn't get all my ideas created. Does that happen to you? But in my earnest efforts not to stockpile alterable items and materials this year, I was determined to use them some how and this is what I came up with!

Here are the three I made. Utilizing three of the bitty dots Papertreyink papers to cover the outer tin makes each one so cute. I traced the lid on PTI white stampers select cardstock, cut out, and distressed the edging to create a fluff look of sorts! Each face is attached with foam pop ups. This allows the space needed for the ribbon bunny ears!

I found a package of candy bracelets at Wal Mart and placed them individually into mini zip loc bags. The small jewelry size works well. Crinkle paper shreds for filler allows the bracelet to sit up in the tin. Inside each lid, a bunny stamped scalloped punched circle (yellow Marvy Uchida) with sentiment, Easter Blessings is from Papertreyink's new set, Tags for Spring.

All ribbon and buttons are from Papertreyink. Kaiser adhesive pearls for the eyes and mouth make this super easy. Heart rain dots make the perfect bunny nose, don't you think? Cheeks are lightly dusted with pink chalk for a soft subtle effect.

I had so much fun creating these bunny faces. I have even more tins to get done and will be gifting candies, and small gift items to many this Easter in an effort to be more economical and use materials I have on hand! All next week I will be showing various ways to personalize these special items for the Easter season. And a special Easter egg edible treat is coming up too! Stay tuned!

Stamp Simply Butterfly

FOR YOU!

Today we are matting, or framing, in white for a fresh, clean and springy look. You MAY use multiple mats on a panel if you like, but at least ONE of them MUST be white. That's it -- anything else goes for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge! For my creation, K & Company BW Madeline designer paper is utilized along with Papertreyink Ripe Avocado and Stampers Select white cardstock papers. I cut my white panel first, then ran it through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. The circle frame is first punched with an EK success 1 3/4" circle punch, punched around that opening using a Marvy Uchida (purple) scallop circle punch. The buttons are Papertrey ink, I added adhesive pearls for the centers. Stamped tag image is from Papertreyink's Paper Tray set. 3/4" and 1" circle punches are used to punch the sentiment and designer paper circles. The tag is attached using a fine silver thread from my local fabric store. The scallop frame is lifted using foam pop ups, as is the butterfly. In this pack of Madeline DP, there is one entire page of butterflies. I cut this particular one out to use on my card. Can you see the light pink FLOWER SOFT? Lightly dabbing with a glue pen, and pressing on the flower soft adds more dimension to the butterfly! Flower Soft is not just for flowers! LOL Three adhesive pearls down the center of this butterfly adds the finishing touch!

Two more cards utilizing this JustRite stamp set! Check previous posts to see JustRite product and block set up. Cardstock is from Papertreyink and designer papers are SeraSera from K & Company. This cupcake is Copic colored and velvet ribbon is from Michaels. Ball head straight pin from dollar store with an earring back used for the stopper. Buttons and ribbon are from Papertreyink! This cupcake is paper pieced. Love the colors in this designer paper! So festive. I am finally done with the cupcakes, for the time being anyway!!! LOL I am having so much fun discovering the versatility of the JustRite stampers, same block set up with so many different looks! Gotta love that!

Paper Pieced Sweet Cupcake!

JustRite Birthday Wish!

A whole different look with the Wood 2 3/8" stamped JustRite cupcake image! K & Company SeraSera Designer paper pieced cupcake and 25 pt. font sentiment create an easy peasy stamped image. Machine stitching, new Papertreyink buttons, and adhesive pearl add the perfect finishing touches to this sweet birthday greeting.

Same stamp set up as previous post, stamped three times, once in New Leaf ink, once on two different patterned designer papers. The frosting piece is adhered with pop up foam dimensionals. Check out all the new JustRite products that have been posted on their online store! I will post two more cards tomorrow, more variations using this bonus cupcake image! Gotta love the versatility of these stampers, they are just right!!!

A Sweet Cupcake Birthday Wish!

What to do when you want to make a flower with your stamped center and do not have any flowers large enough? Use cupcakes liners of course! Perfect for a sweet cupcake birthday! Ink, ribbon and cardstock are Papertreyink product. Cardstock colors: Berry Sorbet, Stampers Select White, Ripe Avocado. Berry Sorbet ribbon, New Leaf and Berry Sorbet inks. The machine stitching on the card coordinates with the stitched ribbon and that adorable button is from Papertreyink as well.

New products are available for pre-order, check out all the ordering info on the JustRite website. My cupcake card utilizes this set. I fell in love with the bonus cupcake stamp! The image is perfect for coloring in any color you choose!

Here is my 2 3/8" wood stamper complete with sentiment and cupcake center, ready for stamping. How fun is this? I love the ability to spell out any sentiment with my fonts! Just right, every time! I stamped my block once with berry sorbet and once with new leaf ink.

You get a better look at the cupcake liners and the Copic coloring in this photo. I wiped the white liners over the berry sorbet ink pad a few times to add color! This really adds to the dimension of the flower. The berry sorbet cardstock center is scalloped using a purple Marvy Uchida punch, white stamped circle is cut out using my circle Nestabilities with the edges daubed with berry sorbet ink. The adhesive pearl covers the buttonholes and adds a bit interest. Here are the Copic colors used. I was pleased how well R22, Light Prawn matched the berry sorbet color. Heat It Up! Stamp Simply Challenge

Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply #77 challenge is to pull out those heat guns and heat emboss an image that will create a card conveying SIMPLE ELEGANCE!!! I chose to emboss and repurpose a gold jewelry box, making it perfect for a gift card.

Alternate Emboss: For those of you who may not own a heat gun, you may play using a dry embossed image achieved either by hand embossing or with a folder and Cuttlebug, etc.

For the gold embossed images I used the stamp sets, Polka Dot Basics, and Tags for Spring along with Versamark ink and SU gold embossing powder. Stamp sets, all paper and ribbon is from Papertreyink. I LOVE how the polka dots look on the box bottom! Corner tabs are made with SU word window punch and punched a second time on one end to shorten.

The monogram "s" is a JustRite preinked lower case letter! They are on sale right now for $5.00. That's right, for the entire set! What a deal! Go check it out, I love the crisp, clean letter you get EVERY time!

A quick, simple box, jazzed up with a bit of embossing, makes for a perfect gift card container.
