Kindred Spirits

KINDRED SPIRITS
Two cards from GinaK Designs Kindred Spirit collection! Using the same stamped image I created two similar cards...changing a few of the details. Copic markers and SU watercolor pencils were used for coloring. Everything is pretty simple! The flower on the right hand side in the picture was way too big so I folded it in half! I'm not usually one for big bling! But this works here! And would be very appropriate for a younger child to give Mom this card! I just noticed I never finished the lower part of the vacuum. I laid in my color and forgot to blend it! It doesn't look too bad! I scalloped the bottom edge with SU corner rounder. The ribbon was a scrap from a store bought gift. It was too short to tie so I slipped the edge under and used adhesive to hold in place. I like the little pouf and it really adds to the overall balance. Here is a closer view of the ribbon detail.
One last picture of the second card. Tomorrow, I will have two more Kindred Spirit cards to show you! Thanks so much, I'm glad you stopped by!

Join GinaK Designs for a new stamp release party! It's all happening over on the Splitcoaststampers GinaK forum here. Sunday, April 20th from 7-10 PM central time. Tons of fun games, contests, challenges and lots of fun chat! 4 new stamp sets and new bling too!

Boot-iful Dresses

BOOT-IFUL DRESSES!

This is my creation for a Papertreyink Boot-iful challenge. Check it out here on Nichole's blog. I first saw what Papertreyink Design team member Debbie Olsen created and decided to pull out Green Thumb and see what I could come up with. Have you ever looked a stamp and saw something completely different? For example when I looked at the boot I saw a shirt. Yup...like a clothing article...Then my mind went to how could I utilize that thought? The large strawberry stamp turned upside down creates the perfect skirt for a dress when placed under the shirt! Voila! A boot-iful dress is created! I just recently purchased a Cuttlebug and have not had time to play, sooo...I decided to use my rectangle nestabilites (I purchased here), and the Swiss Dot embossing folder for this creation. A bit of ribbon on the one card...I switched up the cardstock layering for variance in the cards! Here is a single card photo. Do you like the hanger on the this card? This is created by one of the line stamps and little curly leaf stamps included in the Green Thumb set! Gotta love that!

One more photo with both cards...As I finished these creations...I kept looking at the Green Thumb stamp set...and what did I see? Look at the little stamp that is used for the top of the boot. Does that not look like it would make a boot-iful handbag? And I'm sure there has to be some heels in there somewhere! Take a look and let me know what you see! The new pink colors really compliment the Aqua mist. Don't know which card I like more...the hanger is cool, but too much? All in all, gotta love it when you can utilize your stamps in a new way! Be sure to check out Nichole's blog for all the info.
